SkipSupporterGreat Show!!Have always enjoyed Bucher for decades but podcasts is an even better way to get his opinions! Maybe the only mainstream media member who gives Kobe fair coverage would love to see Ric have a bigger presence on fox as well and longer episodes!
-
dagipejHard to listen toIt sounds like ric is reading to you a column for 30 minutes, trashing De’Aaron Fox. It is hard to listen to.
-
danbeyerAiring GrievancesWe listen to this pod to escape the Nick Wrights and Bill Simmons of this world. Not to hear Bucher hash out his disagreements with what they have said. Feels like personal beef and really kills the tone of this pod.
-
Erik from MiamiLove this showLove this show!! Ric is very knowledgeable and balanced covering the NBA

bam bucketsWhy five stars & now one starAnthony Edwards edit — I wouldn’t but wonder if Ric would let his daughter date him. Considering he literally has been caught paying almost a million in “reproductive rights” for multiple women. Maybe that’s “Gen Z” or a failure of the previous “Gens”. #sendthevideo Short & sweet daily pod. Ric uses his inside NBA approach to thoughtfully unpack stories and player/coaches that make for enjoyable insights for us avid NBA fans. Wrote this above weeks ago and now saying this below. Doesn’t care about individual freedom or choice but drones on about protecting his own kids from his fame and privilege. Very odd takes on the vax and really doesn’t follow the science as he may claim or think. His “doctor” friend sounds like a real tyrant who can’t even bother to listen to the scary players. #FJB

NessthqkiddNBA and Other Sports TopicsRic Bucher, your last two podcasts have been great. The NBA has been great, but your addition of NFL, Soccer and other current topics was great. Please continue to commentate on current topics of interest. Thanks
-
DK823Please stick to almost EXCLUSIVELY NBAPlease stick to almost EXCLUSIVELY NBA. I’d rather not listen to other sport topics and will likely skip those eps or portions of the show.
-
Otterboy101010sports journalism is funsome of the best, most considered and conscientious takes on the nba, it’s fandom, media and culture, offered up alongside a passionate, appealingly probing and refreshingly dialogical point-of-view and/or-departure. huzzah ric you are true jazzman.

T - WalkTop of the top!Another great episode! Always appreciate your insight Mr. Bucher! Would love to get your thoughts on the bucks meltdown. Giannis with the free throws. Bud with the lack of adjustments at times. I loved Giannis’ quote about the bucks playing to win a championship vs Miami playing to beat the bucks. That was a perfect way to sum it up in my opinion. Anyway, keep on giving us great content. Thanks big dawg Ya boy, T Walk

Vxzwe360Never missOne podcast I look forward to every week
-
mjairgoat23Great jobRic is one of the last remaining sports Talking Heads that things independently. His episode on the significance of LeBron passing Kareem was excellent. He brought up points that I keep screaming at my TV that no one seems to understand. I hope Ric continues to put out great content like that and not be another clutch sports Client pushing the phony goat narrative.
-
FactoidsssWaste of your timeThe guy has horribly bias opinions and always has a negative agenda. Don’t waste your time with this trash
-
St. TexHill country TXRic compared Trump to Hitler !!!! Ric you have gone too far on that one. You gave some reasoning , but Hitler was guilty of genocide. I think I have listened to my last Ric podcast. And, no…. I would not vote for Trump in 2024. Never , but I still can’t ever agree with the comparison Ric has made. There was more that he said that is way off, but I will stick to the most alarming thing he said. See ya later Ric , done with you. I will never but mizzo and main now!
-
CesaMor26Too politicalThis guy is a simp for joe Biden and the democrats. It’s been 3 years and he’s still talking about how crazy Trump was. Dude no one cares what you think of the former president. Your a sports reporter, shut up and dribble.
-
bighome7WTHe’ll watch vid so you don’t, and he’ll explain because your to dump to decide if the doc is garbage. Kirie take the jab, be like Kap and bend the knee and it will better, give up your freedom. Twitter is bad because it stop censoring ??? Let’s only hear one side to a story , someone knows what’s best for us dumb people. I’ll keep listening too this podcast so i can understand what the overlords want from us. I hear boycott Nike and Adidas
-
jmdaoneExtremely KnowledgeableGreat podcast. Ric has seen more basketball than most of us. I appreciate the time you put into each episode. Keep up the great work. No doubt the best in the business!
-
BenjaminLim____Best in the BusinessThis is a solid podcast; Ric is eloquent, connected, and pensive!
-
PharfelInteresting angles on basketball games.I listen to a lot of basketball podcasts and this one has become one of my top five whenever they come out. Ric Bucher discusses in some detail what people outside of basketball couldn’t understand otherwise.
-
jose braceroGreat podcast awesome subjects.Great podcast awesome subjects.
-
DatDude_608Great pod RicI loved your writing I’ve been a fan since you use to do the chat rooms on the sports nation website and take questions for about an Hr sometimes longer. Now I love your pods
-
fdhzDzRadical Leftist Rick BucherListened to one episode and 10 minutes in it was all about Will Smith and January 6th. I’ll tune into CNN next time I want to hear that. I thought this was a basketball pod.
-
jleerunsGreat Take on StephGreat take on Steph Curry! I hope he gets back to the MVP form. It’s better to rest and get right in time for the playoffs.
-
caesaeePerspectiveThank you for speaking up about the NBA TV HIGHLIGHT GUY WAYYYYYY TO EXTRA I don’t even watch anymore
-
goodapp7887Great NBA Info.I have been listening for a few months and this is a great podcast. Ric Bucher does not have guests which is not a problem because he is so interesting. I learn so much about the NBA from him. He carries the show with ease all by himself. Every time I listen I say to myself that what I am learning is really interesting. The guy gets an A+ for all the great insights I get from him. I am glad I found this podcast. It is a real gem.
-
angleankleHis Hard-On for LeBronEven if a topic has nothing to do with LeBron, he will somehow, someway nudge his name into it. Lacking context in most of his views such as his recent take on the Lakers losing in the first round without mentioning their two best players were injured and ultimately one didn’t finish the series, shows that his basketball views are as weird as Skip’s.
-
ComplactWorst take of all-time.This Oct 6 2021 regarding Kyrie Irving’s vaccine “hesitancy” has to be the single worst take of all-time. Hard to believe anybody can be this stupid. What’s next? Perhaps a dissertation defending Kyrie’s belief that the earth is flat? Unfollow this garbage.
-
RubberBandGuyWhy so pretentious?I’ve been a listener for the past few years including the old show title. I regularly listen to 10-15 different podcasts on the NBA. This particular podcast/show has gotten too pretentious for my liking. I don’t enjoy that at all. It’s gotten to a point where I’m unsubscribing. I hope it gets better. Good luck.
-
pierry.gtrGreat Podcast!Ric is one of the very few sports analysts today that doesn’t seem to be politically compromised. He is unafraid to offer unfiltered and unbiased criticism on any topic. Along with his strong basketball knowledge and reporting experience, Ric is also very perceptive and sees through the modern day shenanigans that exist in pro sports today.
-
DefinitelynotarapistLove the formatI love the format of this show , it’s only 18 to 20 minutes long but it’s so full of details and knowledge about the subject that Mr Bucker chooses to talk about that day. I listen to the show first thing when I wake up to get ready for work at 4:00 am and I get a lot of info that you don’t get in other shows. Mr Bucker expresses his ideas in a simple but elegant and eloquent manner and his voice is always the same tone. So I can say that early in the morning OTB podcast is like a cup of expresso, small, strong and uplifting.
-
mjrodtunesRefreshing daily takes on the NBADaily format is great; like the singular topic focus for each 20 min segment. Don’t always agree with Ric’s take, but always respect the reasoned approach and look forward to each episode.
-
Que WillLove It! ♥️♥️💙Love this show! Continue to update us daily!
-
Game 7HeavyEven though I disagree with him on a semi-regular basis, Bucher is the heaviest NBA analyst. His presentation is always well-edited, articulate, and intelligent. Bucher draws on his decades of NBA experience and insider knowledge to provided perspectives and insights you won't hear anywhere else. It’s also a great podcast if you’re more of a connoisseur and not that interested in the pop culture takes that other sports shows give you, but instead you prefer to get deeper into basketball strategy and the front office moves around the league.
-
Cooley85Thank YouThank you for the insight and giving the listeners a deeper understanding of the game. Refreshing to hear when u see so many pointless debates glossing over the facts to drive home their narrative.
-
Jumbalaya ChefBetter late than neverI’ll admit I was sleeping on rics pod despite enjoying hearing his input on shows like SFY and the Herd but I’m glad I found it great stuff.
-
jDudeskiThoroughly Enjoy….…Ric’s take on the NBA. I’ve enjoyed his writing since his articles from the Dallas Morning News which were always on point. You want to say he’s cynical but, he obviously still loves the game. As a bitter old Sonics fan I feel I’ve earned my cynicism. As a reporter, he’s clearly earned his. Ric’s takes and perspectives usually match my own. He doesn’t buy into the prisoner of the moment(from fifteen minutes ago) that most of the TV folk suffer from. I enjoyed his take(s) on the Warriors, and winced when he talked about Klay Thompson’s injury since he’s one my favorite players. But he called it cleanly how players don’t always recover. Ric and Broussard are my two of my favorites because they still have that element of being real journalists in a world that has forgotten what that means. The medium has become the message, sadly. Give it a listen. You won’t be disappointed.
-
HO2008EffortMr. Buker takes the time and effort to see the unworn aspects in the NBA. It’s worth your time to listen. Thanks for the efforts.
-
or maybe notNow Better Than EverApple’s summary description is behind the times—the weekly show has been atomized into multiple riffs by a longtime NBA insider flying solo and exhibiting an almost startling willingness to call it as he sees it. As with Charles Barkley, the irrepressible candor is a treat. Sometimes wrong; never in doubt. I’d like to hear more about the power dynamics of NBA coaches and general mangers. In MLB, front offices and analytics are said to be diminishing managers. Is the same true in basketball? If so, Brad Stevens was savvy (and not just burnt out) in changing roles.
-
4 kids tummy :)Insightful, timely commentaryI enjoy Ric’s insightful, timely commentary. After each NBA game, I eagerly wait for the follow-up podcast analyzing the game. In fact, I listen to the podcast while driving in to play pickup basketball at a nearby gym — it just feels so relevant. Overall, I enjoy his succinct, unscripted, honest style.
-
Hi87654Not your average basketball podcastRic provides a truly unique perspective on the game. He has a ton of experience covering the NBA, and you can tell he spends a lot of time preparing for each episode. A far more insightful basketball pod than what the other “experts” or “analysts” offer. Highly recommend!
-
R.B.NGreat commentary and view pointsI can appreciate that this pod is short but provides great insight and analysis. Of course there are many pods that cover basketball but often they can be long and fill with the host speaking off subject for more time than the listener cares for. We do not have this problem with this pod and I am grateful for this option.
-
ww193!Great PodLove the continuous great content that’s always entertaining and informative. Keep it up Ric!
-
bbggfdhjNot worth itNot an intelligent podcast…. Very dismissive of Giannis…. Has xenophobic subtext to it
-
Chorty's BombersReally good podcastSmart insights and content you don’t hear on other podcasts. There’s some west coast bias but still really enjoy it!
-
ManieMannybest nba analyst. Cuz he still plays basketball. He is the best cuz he around 60 year old and still plays basketball. If i was ESPN or any sports media I would require all my reports to play the sport they are reporting on. ======= I would do the same thing for all the coaches in all sports. Make all the coaches play the sport they are coaching. I hate seeing fat out of shape coaches that I’m guessing haven’t played the sport they are coaching in years.
-
JB_EsqLove the contentRic!!! Love the content and perspective you provide on the NBA and basketball in general. I look forward to your podcast everyday and wish you all the best.
-
yaboyfonziGreatRic is not a fanboy! Enough said 🔥🔥👏
-
Verbal_MathLoving the new formatI was skeptical at first, but I’ve quickly learned to love the new short daily podcasts. I’m always disappointed by how fast they are over and I’m excited for the new one the next day. I don’t always agree with Ric which makes his podcast really provocative. I end up thinking in new ways, which is all you can hope for from a podcast. Ric is knowledgeable, skilled, and entertaining. A great listen.
-
Ron Powers IIWow....This guy really a special “view” of Lebron James.....
-
TGoodTimesThought provoking yet approachable!Love this podcast and how Ric covers bigger picture topics in basketball without just throwing out numbers or talking about player movement 2 years down the road. With the new daily format it would be cool if we could submit topic ideas for consideration!
-
Saeed JugganBest Basketball Podcasts Out ThereProviding an awesome, in-depth analysis of anything basketball, Ric offers honest insight into what is going on in the NBA. Ric isn’t beholden to any one team, player, or front office member. Not relying solely on stats that anyone could look up, Ric’s takes come from his journalistic skills, the eye-test, an understanding of the complexities of the game, and common sense. I initially didn’t think that I would like the shorter, daily podcast format, but I must say that it is nice to consider the storylines that arise day to day with a “companion” in the form of Ric’s podcast. Can’t wait to see where this podcast goes over the next couple years.
