The Slam and Jam has become the most unique and fun podcast covering the NBA; all while still educating listeners and making them smarter NBA fans. Andrew and Alex’s chemistry is obvious and I hope this podcast lives on until I am dead.

I love this show and insight but any pod from an airport lobby or common space is an automatic skip. Background noise for an audio platform is a tough listen.

Love Slam & Jam, and the Daily Pod as well! I appreciate how lighthearted the crew keeps it. Always has a positive—or as positive as it can be, when the subject is, e.g. Randall or the 76ers—approach to discussing players, teams, and the NBA. Makes the podcast a fun listen for the jokes, trivia, and great guests.

I wouldn’t have a reason to get out of bed if it wasn’t for the NBA Daily Podcast. I would die in my bed from dehydration. My family would have to call a service to remove my rotting carcass, which would be an experience I believe they would struggle to forget. But thanks to this podcast, I do get out of bed every day: in fact, I LEAP out of bed to hear each new episode. I thank you. My family thanks you. Love the new pods with Es, Zena, and Dave as well. Been a listener for years but just got an iPhone so I can leave this review. As of 3/12/25 Andrews unofficial record calculated by me (so a strong chance there’s a mistake but we’re at least in the ballpark) is 64-68-4. I sent screenshots to Al on Bluesky showing the date, wheel team, opponent and outcome, so my work can be double checked. Love the slam N Jam keep up the great work.

PROS: - daily episodes - great game by game breakdowns - fast show pace, doesn’t lag CONS - too much focus on the same 5-7 teams. Need to look around the league a bit more. - Often too much focus on being reporters and the journalist experience. Gotta say: This is supposed to be a basketball podcast. Not a writers summit. Talk ball!!

Great show for anyone who wants daily updates on everything NBA. I follow basketball quite a bit and haven’t even heard of half the news that they mention, so it’s a nice listen every morning. Also, behind MJ, Kobe is the second greatest of all time, RIP.

I’ve been listening to this show every Saturday for years and I got to say it’s my favorite pod of the week. These guys are awesome and the trivia is great. I laugh out loud at least once every week at the hilarious questions that they come up with. Keeps me going during my Saturday chores.

Slam n Jam is a 100/10, so funny, great chemistry, great everything. But they’ve only posted like once a month this year which has been a bummer. And I miss all the old shows like Baksetbuds with Jay King, Tampering with Slater, The Marcus Thompson and David Aldridge Pod and Nerder. But the new format is just the Daily Ding but 10 mins longer. I get it, drop some talent, drop some workload save some money, but it’s to bad is all.

Best NBA show out there! I do miss the other shows that were previously on this feed but having quick episodes everyday has been great to keep up with everything happening. Slam N Jam is elite and getting to test my NBA knowledge on trivia is the best! I found myself screaming "PABLO PRIGIONI" in my car during the most recent episode while Andrew and Sam struggled to think of someone. Alex does a great job with the questions and deserves an award for some of the madness he causes! Lastly, hope Andrew's recovery is going well. I also had a meniscus repaired when I went in for a torn ACL so I know exactly what you are going through! Best of luck. You'll be back to normal before you know it!

I absolutely love the Saturday Slam & Jam! Not only are Alex and Andrew each fun and knowledgeable individually, but the chemistry they have together is phenomenal and really makes the show what it is. Andrew Vs The Beat is easily a highlight of my week. With that said, I’d love to know how Alex would feel about fan-submitted questions for the quiz. I’m a lifelong Celtics fan and I have a pet favorite stat that I’d love to send in for consideration for when the C’s are made to face the Wheel of Fandom. Let us know! Shoutout also to the Daily crew — Dave, Es & Zeena (hope I spelled it right!!) clearly know ball and are my one-stop shop for keeping tabs on the league. Keep up the good work everyone!

The Athletic is a great publication. How is this pod so bad? Why don’t you have better talent on here, like maybe real journalists who actually know something about how the league works?

With the demise of the Lowe Post pod (RIP), this has become my hands down favorite NBA pod. Weekday team somehow keep convo light but serious (shoutout Zena and Es!). Weekend Slam and Jam crew do great deep dives on specific teams (shoutout Alex and Andrew!). Entertaining without being just stupid hot takes. For serious hoop heads. Five stars.

This an individual award influenced by teammates. Wemby leads in blocks and turn aways by a long shot. Wemby has teammates that cannot keep opponents in front of them. Ask CP how much he cleans up for himself alone. The OKC players have much better defenders on their roster than the Spurs. Not even close.

Phenomenal show, best nba podcast by far. Great music, great energy and great league wide balance. I make it my first listen every day!

Rockets win a big game against GS and the hosts spend the entire segment trashing the team & saying it was a “stolen” victory? No wonder The Athletic is trending downwards. Won’t be listening to this pod again. Better ones out there for NBA analysis

As a longtime listener, the new format is taking a bit of time for me to adjust to. The Athletic podcasts were a good alternative to the tabloid style ESPN nonsense, so I hope this isn’t more of the same. Thank goodness you kept the Saturday Slam and Jam.

The Wheel of Fandom is undefeated. Denver thought they were safe, but the Thanksgiving Slam-and-Jam hiatus opened the window for the Wizards of Washington to strike. In a Saturday night game, which I was in attendance, Jokic had a monster 56/16/8 and it wasn’t enough. The Wizards broke a 16 game losing streak and Jordan Poole got MVP chants at the foul line. An incredible highlight in our sad season. The Wheel of Fandom has shined upon us. Praised, be the basketball gods. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Not feeling the new daily crew with Zena & S. Zena's voice/mic is way louder than the rest of the crew. Bad production. Plus the long ad reads. Pod fell off from a couple years ago unfortunately.

Slam n Jam is good. Deserves the one star by itself, the rest is garbage. The daily shows used to be good, now unlistenable.

All the Athletic NBA Shows are good but Slam n Jam is the best NBA podcast out there, I look forward to it every week. BUT I need to call attention to a grave injustice during 76ers trivia last week. Andrew was up 2 points and selected question 2, which was a multi-part answer about rookies. Andrew got 1 point (Allen Iverson) and Trill got 1 point (Joel Embiid), and after the question Alex said that Andrew only led by 1 now, but he should’ve still been up by 2. Normally it’s whatever, but Trill won trivia by 1 point, meaning they should’ve gone to SUDDEN DEATH. Still though, love the podcast so much, best NBA podcast out there.

Dave is fine, but it feels like a loss to put all of the shows eggs in his basket. I like the cohosts too, but the old rotating panels and different focuses on different days felt more interesting and fresh rather than having the same, one-note update show every day. No one really likes a daily update show. Justice for Nerder!

I had somewhat high expectations for this podcast given the Athletic’s usually stellar journalism. I was wrong. This is slightly improved from its previous incarnation, but still the hosts talk over each other constantly and argue over their own uninformed “hot takes” which are rarely interesting. Oh, and one of them used to work for the Warriors and is quick to point that out in every episode whether or not it is relevant to the discussion.

i js started listening to this and i’m a teen but this is honestly amazing it keeps me interested and it’s captivating also it has good info abt the nba and just like an overview of basically everything so definitely listen

getting rid of all the actual pods for a 30 minute Locked on NBA style recap show is pretty sad, will miss hoops adjacent the most

I’m writing this review because my Reddit post about Anthony Edwards was referenced on the Saturday slam and jam pod. That’s super cool. To be fair, it was sharing a stat from the baseball writer, also of the Athletic, Aaron Gleeman. Either way, love the pod. You guys are great. Been listening since before the format change!

Really enjoying the new format. Been listening for years and Dave has chemistry with just about anyone. The only thing I don’t understand is why the episodes are so short? Should let the hosts cook a bit more and cover more of the games, but overall a great addition to my morning routine.
