LedogboyAn incredible resourceThis podcast has been totally inspirational for me. It took me awhile to realize that the reason there were no new episodes is that Chris is no longer with us, but the nearly 200 episodes he left behind are an impressive body of work. Rest In Peace, and thank you for sparking so many ideas for our farm.

joefarmsAn invaluable resourceThis spring I'm starting a market garden with my partner, and along with apprenticing on other farms for the past three years, Farmer to Farmer has been an incredible resource. It's a weekly tour of farms across North America, complete with the nuts and bolts of a farming operation as well as the day to day life of the farmer. I've worked for two farms in the last three years and learned quite a bit, but this podcast has exposed me to ideas and practices that I haven't found in my apprenticeships or in the many farming books I've read. If you're a new or aspiring farmer, this is required listening. Now, if I have one criticism it's how frequently interns/apprentices/farm labor are complained about. I don't let it bother me, but I can imagine how it would be discouraging to some. And aren't we all trying to grow the local food movement? If so, there's no place for this attitude. I understand that farm interns can be flakes, or worse, I get it, but sometimes Chris speaks as though they're some kind of necessary evil in the trade, instead of focusing on encouragement. All in all, though, I love the show and look forward to it every week.

Sarah DozorThe best farming podcastChris Blanchard is a great interviewer, and listening to this podcast is like visiting all these awesome small farms across the country. I love how Chris gets both into specific details about organic farming tools and methods as well as navigating relationships and keeping emotional balance in farming. Such a great resource for information and inspiration!

LovethefarmersExcellent! We enjoyed listening to Chris Blanchard's podcast immensely! He is excellent at the timing of his insightful questions and draws the listener along with enthusiasm, keeping the whole conversation rolling along smoothly and wisely with a great presence, just the right amount to keep the flow but allowing the farmer to speak his heart! Excellent!

FarmerHarperThis show is responsible for so much of our farm's successIt's hard to put into words how much this podcast has affected our lives. Chris Blanchard provides the listener with the experience of diving into the nitty gritty, innovative, and unique aspects of successful farms across the country. As first generation farmers in the third year of our own operation, my partner and I owe so much to Chris Blanchard and all the farmers on this show for helping shape our farm. I regret that it has taken me so long to write a review because every farmer has something to gain by listening to this podcast. Thank you for all your work on this and your news letter, you have made a huge difference in our lives and I'm certain many others.

jbs513So helpful and informativeAs a beginning farmer this podcast has clarified questions I have had, as well as shed light on realities of running a farm. It has also introduced certain topics that were brand new to me that I have then gone on to research on my own. Overall, this podcast has made me into a fluent speaker in farming and much more confident as a farmer. Thank you!

David JastramVery goodI really enjoy listening to the podcast! Chris seems to ask all the questions I wouldn't have thought to ask. We hope to start market gardening, and start a u-pick pumpkin patch in 2018 to go with our honey operation. Thank you for your hard work.

Aaron GerryThe best!I've listened to well over 30 episodes so far and consistently pick up golden nuggets, resources, and ways of thinking that have been invaluable to my budding farming career. Chris Blanchard is a fantastic interviewer, and each guest brings authenticity, insight, and a unique perspective. As I'm new to farming, Chris has single-handedly exposed me to the sheer breadth and verdant possibilities of what farming can be. If you're a farmer (young or old), give this a listen!

LladnewWords are not enoughIf you are interested in farming, especially from an organic or sustainable perspective, you will love this podcast. Each episode is unique and packed with tidbits and nuances as you learn about how each spotlighted farmer does things. Chris, the host, has a wealth of experience on his own and has a knack for asking questions and digging deeper on topics so that even a non-farmer will enjoy the topics. I really can't begin to say enough good things about this show. As someone that has recently been bitten by the bug to farm someday, I learn something new in each episode and my passion is fueled more and more. I love this podcast!

siskiyou danielBest aroundThis farmcast fills a void and facilitates idea exchange at a pace that farmers can use as they need to. Everything from cultural and practical farming techniques to markting, dicussions of farm/life balance, farming philosophy, community building and the many types of farm models that work, all delivered with an open sense of curiosity and in a way that emboies the spirit of todays farmers. Nicely done.

galaxie12simply amazingMy wife and I have been interested in the idea of farming for a while now, but never had much exposure to people out in the field. Chris Blanchard's interviews offer really amazing insight into the lives and work methods of successful farmers. I was surprised how much I loved listening to down-to-earth people talking about the kind of life that I've always been drawn to. Congrats to Mr. Blanchard on such an elegant format. THANKS!

RedaddictionInspirational and InformativeThis is one of the best podcasts I've ever had the joy of listening to. This podcast contains such a broad amount of knowledge you'll need to listen twice. Thank you Chris for the time and effort you put into this. -Papa's Worm Poo

kale is foreverGood stuffAwesome resource for farmers. Chris has great guests and they really dig into the nitty gritty of the management decisions farmers make and why they make them. This is the only podcast I've found like this and the quality is high.
-
lina149An invaluable resourceI've been farming since 2003 and thought I was doing pretty well, but I've been humbled and inspired by all the guests on this show. I farm in a pretty isolated location at the Oregon coast, and it's been years since I was able to have regular contact with a range of experienced farmers. Listening to the podcast has been an invaluable resource. It's pushed me to think outside my box, take a hard look at a few of our practices and crops, and hopefully will make my farm happier, healthier, and more profitable. Thank you!

FarmerDevinPlanning a New Farm, Great Advice for PlanningMy wife and I are going to be starting a farm later this year and have been doing a ton of reading, researching, and taking some classes to prepare. This podcast was recommended to us by multiple farmers we've been talking. Best advice we've received so far. I started at episode 1 two weeks ago and just started 37.

yoko takemuraA long overdue review of the best podcast I've ever listened to!I meant to write a review a long time ago and I have no excuses... I cannot put into words how much I appreciate Chris Blanchard for putting together such an incredible podcast. The hour and a half that Chris spends on each farmer allows him to really dig into the details and I think it makes the podcast that much more valuable. He interviews farmers from across the country and Canada, which illustrates the diversity of farms, farmers, and conditions in which they farm very well. I was lucky that I started farming around the time this podcast went live, I have not missed an episode since. This podcast is what my husband and I look forward to every weekend on our drive to the farmers market!

RNationLook forward to every PodcastI've learned a lot from this Podcast. I've always wanted to farm full time, but never realized I could maintain a good income doing so. Chris talks to many farmers that are doing this successfully. So, I've started a long term plan to get there, and will be listening to this podcast along the way. Only constructive critisim would be the audio quality of the guests. Some are almost too difficult to hear. Overall Great Podcast! Thank you!

Shakefork CSAWhy didn't this exist when we started farming??I take away something valuable from each and every podcast I listen to. I anticipate the new episodes every week and it's the first thing I listen to on Thursday mornings. Chris does an amazing job with the great questions he asks. BlablancThe BESTThe farmer to farmer podcast is one of the best resources I have found as a beginning small farmer. Being able to listen while I work has pulled me through some rather lonely/isolating times when I wonder what the heck am I doing? Many thanks for this podcast, Chris Blanchard, and all the guests he has interviewed. Even the shows I didn't think I would find interesting taught me something awesome.
-
Sleepy root farmersExcellent questions and great insightsChris has knack for asking thoughtful questions and really listening to what his guests have to say. Great insights.
-
market farmer in PolandBest podcast for market farmersI have found this podcast alone stands out for sharing the most useful, most specific, most applicable information any market farmer would want to learn from another. Chris Blanchard is a uniquely restrained interviewer who asks just the right questions and then lets his guests go on without interrupting them - a very professional approach which is rare in the podcast arena. Above all, the guests are interesting and thoughtful individuals who have great insights and life stories. Excellent on many levels.
-
ARB4!LegitGreat interviews. Great questions. Full of useful information!

Chris RoehmLove this Podcast!I learned about this podcast when I heard Chris Blanchard speak about cost managment at the Oregon State Univ Small Farms Conference this past winter. He obviously knew a lot about market farming so I hoped his podcast would be helpful. The product has exceeded my expectations. Blanchard uses his farming background to inform his interviewing without ever "big footing" the guests. And the guests! From farming legends to relative newcomers, the breadth and depth of experience is amazing. The resulting podcasts are equal parts inspiration and practical knowledge. I haven't worked my way through the whole back catalog yet but, hey, it's gonna be a long summer.
