Inside the Box: The TV History Podcast

16

Inside the Box: The TV History podcast breaks down a particular era, innovation, trend, or program by spending an entire episode (or two) discussing it. Hosted by Jonathan Bullinger, Andrew Salvati, and Steve Voorhees, they apply their scholarly work in media studies to provide the history of TV, critique it at times, and just try to have some fun as they explore inside the box. Be sure to also check our supplementary content that accompany each episode on our home page www.tvhistorypod.com.

    A Great Loss
Everything you could ever want in a podcast and much more. Super intelligent, incredibly informative, yet enjoyable. And because it is so enjoyable, because the chemistry between the three gentlemen works so very well, the listener actually learns. Learns a lot. This podcast stood (and stands!) head and shoulders above anything else dealing with the history of TV. Nothing before, nothing during, and nothing since the end of this podcast comes anywhere close to the excellence of Inside The Box.

    Tv History Podcast
I am sending this out the day I found out they are no longer going to update the podcast. With TVs rich history and importance to people’s lives, this has become a must listen. Getting ready to list to the history of Netflix today. Early history of TV has been their specialty. Thanks

    Get your Rockford Files on
I woke up on Saturday with an overwhelming urge to get schooled in television history. I spent much of the day sifting through piles of internet garbage, interspersed with a few good essays and vlogs, but I'm a podcast girl. This one hit the spot. Academic enough to treat the material seriously and elevate the inherently fun material above nostalgia and top ten lists, while maintaining accessibility and the joy of nerding. Good work, fellas!
