Gypsy_JoelleFinally!This actually works. I have tried many learning techniques, but this is by far the best technique I have found to learn a language.

HaoCui_2025A hidden gemI’m currently learning German with other materials (DW’s Nicos Weg and Pimsleur), and I find Stress Free German a very nice addition. I’m currently on Lesson 12 of the podcast and the image grouping method (or whatever it’s called) is extremely helpful with memorising genders. I also like the way grammar rules are explained, very intuitive and makes German grammar feel a lot less intimidating. The listening/speaking exercise at the end of each lesson really hammers those grammar rules in your head and builds your confidence. Overall the method is effective to me personally. This course doesn’t seem to be very well known for some reason but I think people should give it a try, especially beginners. And don’t skip the listening exercises.

PJPLSSA winning method that is truly stress free, natural, and humanI’ve studied language-learning for many years now, and I can say the method of learning led by Mark in this program is life-changing. The complex is made simple. What seemed like an overwhelming task of memorizing German articles is made actionable and achievable. Leveraging our human senses (the way we perceive and learn), Mark leads the language-learner through a methodical process of language assimilation that is fun and stress-free. I wish I had approached other languages in this way years ago. Thanks to SFG and Mark’s method, my approach to language-learning has changed. I’m a better language-learner today because of this program. Thank you, Mark!

Crowbar ManExcellent and EngagingI found this course on Apple Podcasts, and I also use their great website. This course takes an intimidating language and actually makes it fun and engaging. I keep looking forward to going back to it. I feel like I’m interacting with the 3 instructors in a little German club. The approach in Stress-Free German is very different from other language courses. The effectiveness is apparent from the first lesson. Let me tell you what this course has done for me. I work long hours with a short commute. So I have no time for activities like learning a new language. Yet, in 2 months, I got through Volume 1 and went on my first trip to Switzerland for 2 weeks. My Swiss German friend assured me that most of them speak English, and I knew that Swiss German is a different dialect anyway. So trying to learn High German in 2 months seemed like a fool’s errand. But I followed Mark’s teachings, went on my trip, and spoke German as much as I could. Did I make mistakes? Absolutely! Did I make a fool of myself? YES. But then some interesting things happened. I started to say phrases well enough that people would dignify my questions by responding in full-speed German! Then I had the harrowing task of trying to understand what the heck they’re saying. But that’s ok, because you’ll learn from each mistake. Each time you get over the fear and interact with people, you’ll learn by listening. I could have enjoyed my trip just fine knowing zero German. But by trying to engage the Swiss people in their own language, I connected with them on a different level. Not only did they help me learn German, but I also learned regional Swiss differences in the language. I began to understand their culture. I began to see not only the wonderful ways in which we are different, but also the ways in which we are all the same. I don’t have another trip planned to a German speaking country. But I still got volume 2 of the course. I didn’t even use the discount.

HeatherRCDMFun and effective way to learn GermanMy husband and I are preparing for a trip to Germany this fall. We lived in Germany 20 years ago and need to brush up on our German skills. Over the years we have tried many learning programs without success. We have learned so much more in these lessons than in any other program combined.

Jch6489Engaging and funI find this extremely complementary to language apps (more fun, and engaging too). It helps establish a solid base and drives home the fundamentals of the language - why supporting words are the way they are, etc. Mark, the narrator, seems like a great guy and makes this an easy listening, interactive learning tool. Will definitely be supporting and continuing the lessons in courses 2 and 3.

Hair DudesterrGreat Way To StartThis is a perfect complement to a ‘regular’ class even though it is totally unrelated. Listening without a book is surprisingly natural and easier than you would think.

C. HemmeThis Is Exactly What I Needed! The German case/number/gender deal had me absolutely bewildered…I thought it was going to take a depressingly long time to start getting it straight. But the teaching methods SFG uses definitely delivers on the podcast motto: “learn German the right way, right away.” I would highly recommend this podcast to anyone!

TRY (THAT) AGAIN MY BOY....Amazing and easy structure.I went from shaking my head with courses and apps, to saying “wow it makes sense”, within only a few episodes. Grade A material. All learners should start with this!
