Nutrition #48

At The Bread Beckers, Inc, we believe that what passes for food today bears little resemblance to the living organisms God created. Fatigue, sinus problems, constipation, high cholesterol and even warts are just some of the conditions that many suffer with, from eating foods that our bodies were never meant to process.Sue's Healthy Minutes Podcast is an extension of The Bread Beckers, Inc. Sue Becker, Founder, is a Food Scientist with over thirty years of experience in the food industry. Here, she discusses the nutritional science behind the foods that we eat today and reveals how simply eating real food can be beneficial to your overall health and wellbeing.*DISCLAIMER: Nothing in this podcast or on our website should be construed as medical advice. Consult your health care provider for your individual nutritional and medical needs. Eczema healed by real bread!
I started eating real bread two months ago, and my eczema on my scalp is healing! So grateful that the Lord led me to this!

    I am learning So Much
I started listening to this podcast in December 2024. Since it had been on for many episodes before I started I spent many hours listening to all the past episodes. Now I look forward to weekly episodes and continue to learn so much from Sue Becker. I have been milling my own flour for over 13 years, but in December I decided to start using Fresh milled flour exclusively. No more cakes, cookies or Italian bread made from white flour. While I have always enjoyed the fresh milled flour Sue has taught me the importance of this way of life. It has been rather difficult for my husband, but we have made the change and hopefully our health will show improvement through all I am learning by listening to this Sue’s Healthy Minutes. If you haven’t listened as of yet, it is an eye opener. Highly recommend.

    I’m inspired, encourage and convicted.
I’m so grateful I heard Sue on a different podcast, that lead me to this one. I haven’t started grinding my own wheat yet, but I’ve definitely been inspired, encourage and convicted to make the change for my family. Thank you Sue!

    Learning, good for the soul
I learn something useful with every podcast and sharing moment listening to an episode or two a day. Whether to help myself or someone I love. I love that there are transcripts so I am not having to take notes of information to use later, thus reducing my ability to understand it in the moment. The key is to just listen, soak it in. Then go back over the transcript on read those snippets to re-enforce what you just heard. You have to exercise your brain so you have the ability to retain information.

    A wealth of information
A wealth of information in every episode. I identify with each guest you have on your show. Our God is amazing and I am so thankful for how your brand and community are reaching so many. I share your podcast all the time and pray that those who are ready to benefit from your obedience to share the truth will. I laugh, cry and rejoice how God is using your story to help many and I truly believe people will find the gospel through Breadbeckers. There are so many voices but if the views don’t align with scripture we should let them have any part of our lives. From one who avoided bread so much of her life it truly is a joy to make several loaves every week for us and several to give away.

    Bread that HEALS!
I love this podcast! It is so informative and has been so helpful to our family. Thank you so much Sue, for sharing the knowledge God has given you regarding the life-changing health benefits of wheat and other whole grains. My daughter WAS allergic to red meat and pork, but after she has been eating the freshly milled bread for a year, she can now eat these meats in small portions WITHOUT pain! You are fulfilling the commandment to love one another as you love yourself by teaching us TRUTHFUL information about REAL bread. Keep at it sister!

    Glutton doctor freed from food
On November 2022, my wife called me a glutton. I wasn’t fat, but after thinking about it, it was certainly true. I can cookies chocolate chip cookies, chocolate pie, lemon pie, peach pie, tea cakes, chocolate cake, scones, muffins, banana bread … all from scratch…… I cannot have just 2-3 pieces in one setting either. We had significant illness due to mold exposure in our home. My child had health issues also. That night after thinking about the name my wife called me, I got on my knees and I called Jesus to help me with my gluttony and just gave it over to him. 2 weeks later, I found Felicia’s channel mirroring Sue’s talks(it usually takes 2 weeks in my prayer experience). I purchased a grain mill instantly and cracked out this old grain schnitzer I got from online from Poland some time ago as it fits my kenwood mixer to tie me over for porridges until my mill arrived which the first thing I made was tortillas which I devoured. 1 week passes and I noticed my cheeks and nose felt light. At least 60% of my congestion gone just like that. Sure it ebs and flows still, but I have never had that heavy congestion with any cold or flu I got for the past 2 years….in the event that I might actually get sick. What a miracle. I’ve done vegan. I’ve done keto. I’ve done Weston Price price. I could never, however, get past sugar cravings after 2 weeks of any diet. Now bread dipped in honey satisfies. My appetite for meat is stabilized also. I have always felt something was wrong with the mismatch between fad medicine and diets and the Bible on the subject of bread. I remember a local woman who owned a health food store when I was a teenager who told never eat wheat. My reply was it was in the Bible. Her reply was they used other grains to eat besides wheat, however, that wasn’t the case when I looked many places in the Bible and eventually just shrugged it off for a while. Oh the excitement when I found out about this! I am just as excited now as I was then. I’ve have been disappointed in many things, but this was faithful indeed because it was gifted by him who made the bread. When I gave up my sin to Jesus, he gave me his bread in return. It has literally been a miracle! There is so much more to share, it could fill a book. Happy Birthday Sue! Dr. Johnson

I love listening to the podcast, but I love the bread that Sue taught me to make even better. It is delicious and so good for you.

Well-researched, backed by experience, and easy to understand!
Sue does a phenomenal job of adding well-researched scientific data to her personal experience and customer testimonials to provide solid health and nutrition information in an easy to understand manner. I don’t miss an episode!

    Educational
I absolutely love Sue’s podcast. She is so knowledgeable about all grains and is the reason I bought a mill in September 2023. My favorite episodes are the ‘It’s the bread stories’. It is so amazing to hear how health and lives have been improved by milling your own grains.

    Wow! Learning so much!
I am learning so much about the vitamins that we need from bread but that flour has been stripped of so many of them. I have been making sourdough bread but from store-bought organic flour. Now I know I need to mill my own flour to get the benefits for my family. I am doing the work anyway of making homemade bread, I want the FULL BENEFITS! Can’t wait to get started on this health journey for me, my husband and my 4 young children. Thank you Sue!

    An Answer to Prayer
I’m so thankful that I found your podcast! I have always been interested in healthy living and have recently become a certified Christian Health Coach. I have been praying that God would show me how He wants us to eat and live and what I should be teaching as a wellness coach. The current arguments in the health and wellness world were not making sense to me. I knew that if Jesus compared himself to Bread then it must be a good thing! You have shown me the answer! God is so good! When we earnestly seek His wisdom He will give it to us! Thank you so much for your ministry in this area! ❤️

    Milling wheat again!
Thank you for taking the time to record these podcasts. I only found out about the podcast right before Christmas 2022 from your newsletter (guess I never paid attention before) and binge listened to them all. I’m so inspired to start making real bread again! I’ve made your recipe weekly since and I keep one and give one loaf away to a coworker. Thank you!

    Life changing & gut healing
As someone who has struggled with an array of inflammation related diseases since childhood, the wisdom Sue Becker ties together has been life changing. My health & the health of my family have improved so much in the past 4 months. I no longer need medications I required to be able to move without pain, my mind is clear, I sleep, I am free from anxiety. I am so grateful she has answered the call for her life’s work. To God be the Glory!

Very accessible and interesting. No fluff or annoying ads/interviews

    Succinct & Informative
No frills, no ads, no chit chat about the weather. Just solid nutritional info from an expert in the field who is obviously a researcher at heart, as opposed to someone with empty promises about a crazy passing diet craze. I especially appreciated the candor in the “Don’t quit, ask again” episode. If you’ll allow me to NOT be succinct now…we started on real bread about 5 years ago after a friend recommended it for some toilet issues one of our children was having. She introduced me to your website and I was captivated by my friend’s personal experience and everything I began to read. Well, after weeks of research and getting up the nerve, I did it. It quickly fixed the toilet issues and we noticed so many other benefits we haven’t looked back since. I don’t think people are crazy when they go “gluten-free.” I often go gluten-free myself when I’m out and I can’t have my real freshly milled bread now. Who enjoys feeling like they’ve just swallowed a lead balloon? But I do share with my gluten-free friends that commercial bread versus real bread is like comparing apples to oranges. I want to shout from the rooftops, “You can eat bread again! Mill it yourself! It’s so much better in every way! You can do it!” Thank you for your podcast, and for all the digital resources you have provided, Sue, to walk with people every step of the way in doing something completely new with confidence and success. I’m so so thankful I made the decision to try it (even though it was scary to invest that amount of money in something I didn’t know how to do at first)! It started me down a road to better health, and my life and my body now look and feel better than I can remember in many many years. My kids and I listen to your show together some and it has led to many great conversations about health. A foundation for good health is being laid in their lives and I’m so thankful. A sincerest thank you from my heart for what you have done and are doing for me and my family.

    Just makes sense!
Thanks for the encouragement this podcast brings! Such common sense things put into practice and I appreciate that! I am on my bread baking journey now!🥰🥰

    Excellent podcast
Although our family has been eating real bread for quite sometime (since 1993), Sue goes into a lot more detail about the intricacies of how the bread works with our bodies. The more I listen the more I am simply in awe at how much our Father loves us to provide something SO beneficial for our bodies!..and not only that but how beautifully complex our bodies are to utilize the nutrients He provides! Thank you Sue for teaching us! ☺️

    Wisdom for a Lifetime
When I was a girl my mom found out about the Bread Beckers at a home school convention. She always said, “sitting through one of their seminars felt-like-revival!” Sue‘s no nonsense approach demystifies healthy eating and all these years later I am still using the same Whisper Mill and bread maker my mom bought at a conference to feed my own family, so I cannot speak highly enough of the quality of the goods they sell. Thank you Bread Beckers for the impact you’ve had on my life. “Real Bread” feeds the mind, soul and body.
