DurhamRegularPsychology and mental health applied through tennisI don’t give anything- any product, and podcast, and person, five star ratings - but baseline intelligence earns it. This is my favorite tennis podcast because it mixes pro player, coach, and sports-adjacent professional personalities and perspectives, and Jonathan Stokke has a pretty good interviewing style that makes everything seem like an easy and natural conversation ( go listen to old episodes and see how he’s improved). I get the sense that he seems like a guy that is taking his lifetime of tennis experience and connections and using it to make the rest of us better- there is nothing self aggrandizing or egotistical about the interviews, and he never “name drops” in an annoying way. While it’s true that if I didn’t like or play tennis then I probably wouldn’t have found this podcast, I’m so glad I did. It’s giving me mental health improvements that I never saw coming.

Torps3993Functional contentInvest in some proper audio equipment. Audio quality is so poor it’s hard to understand without turning up the volume way too high.

romalori“Get better at tennis without picking up a racquet”Jonathan genuinely cares about his tennis community and strives to deliver actionable advice with each and every episode. The questions he asks of his guests are always spot on and really help the listener drill more deeply into the topic at hand. Every tennis player who genuinely is devoted to improving their game should put @stokketennis in their bag.

CybergrailMy Favorite Tennis PodcastThis is my favorite Tennis podcast for several reasons. 1. Johnathan is a great interviewer and knows who his audience is and asks questions to help his audience become better tennis players. 2. Johnathan has some amazing guests that are able to translate top level performers, and what they do into helping recreational, but serious, players. 3. I have received many great tips, but one example is more realistic targeting. By making my targets in a better location as he described, I’m hitting fever balls out keeping rallies going longer and ultimately winning more points! Thanks, Jonathan!

JJZoltekImproved my tennisThis is such a great podcast for the tennis player who is looking to improve their game “without even hitting a ball.” I learn something every episode, usually multiple things, and I have found myself looking at the game differently and the seeing results. The topics are great and the interviews are interesting while also pulling teaching information from the guest. I started following on instagram and youtube just so I could get more content because the only negative I would share is that I’m always left wanting more. Great job. Thank you.
-

@rynoHands down, THE podcast for people who love playing tennisI can’t say enough great things about Jonathan’s podcast. His approach to the game is so helpful, and I’ve learned so much from his podcasts (and IG and YouTube). He has awesome guests from all corners of the sport (former and current players, coaches, subject matter experts, etc) and they are all world class in their field. He asks great questions and always makes sure the episodes are useful for recreational players of all levels. I am always looking forward to listening to new episodes because each one has been so useful. There are a lot of instructional-focused coaches creating content, but he’s simply the best. There isn’t a better podcast out there for people who love playing tennis and improving their game.
-
Terry AccountEasy to put into actionI love Jonathan’s easy to understand tips and his guests have such good ideas to help with all things tennis!! I am so appreciative of his podcast!

sdubz0101010101Insightful/Fun/DigestibleStokke and his guests rock. Great convo and dialogue for new and advanced players. For those who practice mindfulness/self-awareness, the show brings great mindset tips and what incorrect beliefs to consider changing. For those who like data/analytics, the show also has elements of quantitative analysis to better understand the why’s. Listen to it regularly and it’s my favorite tennis podcast.
-
daftrosesThe Stokke Effect is realListening to Stokke’s podcast is like enrolling in a tennis academy, I literally improved from a UTR 4 to UTR 8 over a year listening to this podcast.
-
Rob10isProTennis aficionados onlyThis is the best podcast if you love tennis and want to learn about the game. Jonathan brings in such an amazing talent pool from current/past pro players to mental/physical coaching methods. He even covers doubles with guest which is a very under discussed topic in the tennis world. He even makes sure to apply the newly acquired principles into tangible every day players too (3.5/4.0 player). This isn’t just High Performance based but if you want to learn something about the game you MUST listen!

MattycurB13Best Tennis Podcast for Elevating Your GameThis is easily my favorite podcast for accessing helpful, highly credible and easily digestible content. I played tennis competitively as a kid up until 18, then stopped playing for my entire adult life. After 30 years off the court I recently rediscovered my love for the game when my son started playing and we regularly play and drill. Back in full force now, playing tournaments and at my club, BaseLine Intelligence has helped me get my game back and progress faster and in ways I wouldn't have anticipated. Jonathan's coaching tips are incredibly practical and applicable. His guests are awesome. I'm always looking forward to the next episode. Keep it going!!
-
Dug70Great contentFar and away the best “instructional” podcast I have found. The content is consistent, current and reliably brings to light something I’d not considered trying in my own matches.
-

This podcast is the really the best of it’s kind. It truly makes you a better tennis player without hitting a tennis ball. Thanks Jonathan for your awesome work.

Please don't buy meGold in every episode 🎉I’m so glad I found this podcast. I’ve known many of these coaches for years and I am still learning from all their nuggets of wisdom. The host asks great questions and most importantly lets his guests talk. I can’t recommend this resource enough for high performance coaching. You will be a better player and coach just by listening. Thanks for sharing.

JCas16Great content!I really enjoy the variety of guests on the show. They all offer unique knowledge of the game & are able to keep it real for adult rec players like myself. Tricycling5StarThe Most Practical Tennis Pod Out ThereI listen to many tennis instructional podcasts always trying to find an edge - especially mentally. Jonathan’s guests and his laser focused questions generate practical advice that club players can incorporate to get better results the same day they hear it. My win/loss record has improved dramatically since I subscribed, without technical changes. Aggressive shots to conservative locations! Thanks Stokes, looking forward to learning more in ’24.

Taavi456!Tiina’s TakesI played # 1 singles at Harvard and am playing USTA age group tourneys now. I have had multiple top 5 national rankings. I love your very useable points about many matters. Your guests and mostly interesting. It’s great you focus both on singles and dubs. would wish for a little more about the 4.0-5.0 serve. Where to stand for various serves and how best to “see” what’s coming at you. Plus when you serve a certain serve, what are most likely responses. You are an awesome host. You do your research and really work at this. Here’s to a national championship for me this year and more great pods for you in 2024!
-
NB342Time well spentContent is very useful and nicely timed. Some other podcasts in this genre have lots of useless and redundant host chatter. Jonathan is a conversant, clear communicator and also a great interviewer.
-
BlakeJLearn about tennis from a fantastic coachI’m very happy to have found this podcast after first encountering Jonathan Stokke’s content on Instagram. There is a lot of insight here on singles and doubles strategy, as well as technique tips. A love how some consistent themes emerge from conversations with many different players and coaches, e.g. don’t worry about getting passed down the line in the doubles alley. Some of the content reinforces things I already knew, but I also encountered new concepts here that I had never heard elsewhere, such as changing your swing path depending on whether the ball is rising or falling when you hit it. Great stuff!

1inEveryCrowdIf you like tennis, you'll love this podcast!I'm a recreational player trying to improve my game and found Jonathan Stokke’s videos on Instagram with all kinds of helpful pointers and drills. Those videos led me to his podcast (The Pod!) which is so great! His career arc has put him in touch with tennis greats from current top players to coaching elites. The stories are amazing and entertaining, Jonathan's questions and insights are fun and informative, and he always squeezes practical advice from guests that applies to 3.5/4.0 level players. Give it a listen-you’ll burn through the library quickly like I did and soon be impatiently waiting for the next drop. Thanks, Jonathan, for a great show!
