The Book of Constellations

47

A down-to-Earth sci-fi road trip, The Book of Constellations is a story about Rael, who claims to be the sole survivor of an alien race, as told by Simon, the man who went with him. On a quest to save humanity from the same malevolent force that destroyed his own people, Rael believes this “Darkness” resides in the Governor of the state. Rael makes his way west to the Capitol armed with nothing but his uncanny perception and empathy. He gathers allies along the way from the forgotten and lost of America. Rael’s obsession won’t allow him to mourn another world, but how far is he willing to go to save us?

    Loving it
I have come to the abrupt end of the podcast! I love this show so much. Nothing else has made me feel more hope and grace. I foolishly didn’t check to see how many “Chapters and verses” there are B4 listening. The show has come to an end. Nothing since 2022. This pod is true story adjacent. It tells the story of anger, fear, frustration, darkness and hopelessness of this very moment! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE START THIS UP AGAIN’ I looked so forward to every next episode.

    Truly exceptional audio drama
This is a great heartwarming story but it is also filled with intrigue and combat. Totally unique within this space. I couldn’t say better things about it.

    Exceptional
Touching & fantastical story that left me wishing Rael was Real. We could really use someone like him today. Wonderfully executed story telling that reminds us to hold caring, compassion and basic humanity as our most valuable abilities. The Book of Constellations reminds us that people are complicated…but all we need to do, is love EVERYONE.

    Wonderful!
Thoughtful and sensitive story. The action is exciting, but the message is the point. Oddly, despite being “message-driven,” this story doesn’t feel preachy or dogmatic. The main character is not from this world, yet he seems so human, & so vulnerable that I felt attached as if he were a real person. I cared about the characters and worried when their adventures took them into danger. I’ve listened to over a dozen excellent podcasts, but this is the first one I have shared, the first one I needed to share.

Amazing storytelling and a beautiful purpose with the journey of Rael. We need more of him, Simon & Satya!

This Show Should Be a TV Series!
I was hooked after listening to the first two episodes. The characters are detailed and unique. The mystery develops at just the right speed. And the production quality is excellent. Trust me. This is an indie podcast that deserves to be supported. Two thumbs up!

A moving, well-executed story with a lot of heart
This show hits all the right notes, and I don’t just mean its music. It’s paced very well, the story is compelling, and everything works in concert in a way that makes this show the total package.

    Epic exambple of single-narrator storytelling
It's easy to get lost in this and forget that this is one person doing the writing and voice acting. The characters are distinctive and bring their own unique flavors to the story. It feels full and exciting, and you are just along for the ride. While it does take a front door approach to some social and political issues, it does so in a thought provoking and empathetic way and doesn't dehumanize. W. Keith Tims does a fantastic job coaxing us to look at our own world through Rael's eyes, and you come out feeling warm and fuzzy sometimes when you probably shouldn't. Great stuff, highly recommend!

News got you down? Listen to BoC!
It feels like this show made a little nest in my heart. A comfort story with a full, colorful cast (most played by one versatile actor!), it’s also moving and challenging. Yes, it has political themes, but the writer addresses them through a lens of humanity, survival, and spirituality. Highly recommend for anyone new to audio drama/podcasts.

    Hopeful sci-fi adventure
The storytelling is top tier, and i was hooked from the beginning. The natural feeling cadence of the experience and pacing make for a great time. Highly suggested for mystery and esoteric sci fi.

    A Celestial Gospel
A calm, collected story that hits on a lot of heavy topics. Each character has their own dynamic, and the author writes their interactions beautifully. I love the message presented, and took it to heart. The title of the podcast is very fitting and the narrator executes the lines phenomenally. Overall, a 10/10 for me! Great job!!

    Social justice NOT sci-fi
This is social justice agenda with a hint of scifi. If you want LBGTQ with your sci-fi The Night Post is artfully clever with a quick pace. All the characters and writers are Gay/Lesbian without all the politics of book of constellations. Which is pure pandering and very preachy.

    Top notch and enjoyable
A very human story with otherworldly strangeness that mirrors modern-day themes. The narration and character interactions are terrific, and the soundtrack captures the mood perfectly. A great ride from start to finish.

Always thought that I'd be an apostle...
I don't think I'm giving too much away to say that THE BOOK OF CONSTELLATIONS is speculative fiction about what would happen if a Jesus figure was on earth in the time of a fictionalized Trump and Fox News. It's not at all preachy; instead it's about reconnecting to human values in dark times. It is a well-constructed narrative that is warmly performed. At times it is profound. More than any other story I've encountered, this gives the sense of how confusing, hopeful, and mystifying it must have been to have been called as an apostle. Highly recommended.

I look forward to each new verse
The story is so compelling, the music is moving, and I feel both emotional and relaxed listening. Like another reviewer stated, there is a gritty realism, but I find myself being a bit hopeful too.

    Really enjoying this
Keith has a gritty realism. The play between this and the fantastic circumstances Simon finds himself in promise for an interesting ride through the series. And kudos to this creative soul for being the modern version of a one-man band. It is hard enough to right compelling stories. It is quite another to be able to bring those stories across as an audio drama. It is still another thing to conquer the technology required to marry music and voice with narration and character portrayal to see the story through to high-quality finished product!
