The world is real bad right now but I’m grateful for Derek bravely slotting through and explaining the worst parts of it while Danny puts it in a historical context that doesn’t make it feel any more unique or special than other terrible times. Strangely makes me feel better. Love this podcast.

This would be one of the best podcasts on American foreign policy simply for its weekly news roundup. Add the endless parade of knowledgable and entertaining guests, the deep-dive historical series and the hosts’ stoic wit in the face of the all too often grim nature of the subject matter, and you have the best.

This is the best way to have get a macro understanding on what matters in the world. I would give it 6 stars if Daniel Bessner wasn’t such a snarky leftist intellectual banned from entering Russia. But Derek Davidson’s earnest attitude always saves the day.

Top notch show, incredibly wide ranging topics and an excellent carousel of guests. The hosts are unabashed leftists, but they don't just bring on a bunch of like minded thinkers to parrot each other, they host people from all over the intellectual spectrum. This show makes me feel smarter, a much needed salve for our truly moronic political media ecosystem.

I especially love their news briefs.

Derek and Danny very smartly, wryly and simply discuss various many global geopolitical topics in a way that even a bumpkin like me can understand. The episodes with guests are typically very in depth and thought provoking. I recommend this podcast to everyone who isn’t a trump brained Rogan sicko.
