parparts8great for those interested in the genre!I love the guests that Jim has had on and I love how chill and down-to-Earth he is. I'll keep coming back for more because I love to hear about these artists' perspectives on the industry- writing, recording, touring, etc.

doow4sMaster of Music and PodcastsIt’s kinda wild. This podcast got me into Jimmy Eat World, not the other way around. I saw Chris Carrabba (one of my musical heroes) mention this podcast and showed me how much I was missing out not only with this but with Jim’s actual music. Truly Incredible.

Seth IngyInteresting and entertaining! As a long-time Jimmy Eat World fan (Milwaukee’s Rave Bar with TPR!), I had to check this podcast out. I’m hardly a musician but I love listening to Jim and his guests explain his/her songwriting process, inspirations, etc. The interviews are sweet and sincere. Keep up the great work, Jim!

Joey BlaineAccessible vulnerabilityJim’s podcast is so captivating. It is interesting to hear artists who you view as superheroes go into normal people mode that are weathering the same storm we are. The questions asked and discussions are raw and honest. Every shoe has made me want to dive deeper into my creativity and become a better artist. 5 stars!

j elliott78New favorite podcastI love how Jim and whoever is guest get into theoretical stuff about creating. Every episode has been full of incredible insights and thoughts from both Jim and his guest. The quality is also perfect. The levels are always even and it sounds great. So happy this podcast exists.

midkayI love this!Jim is a great personality for this, very enjoyable to listen to and has a lot of stories and insights to share, and shares them very freely. I appreciate his genuineness, excitement and openness around the creative process, with his guests and in sharing his own experiences, discoveries and motivations. Keep it up!!

MR (NYC)Fellow Sober WriterOnly 2 eps in but LOVE hearing Jim talk about impact of sobriety & recovery on his creative process. I’m a writer, 6.5 years sober from alc/drugs, but keep slipping on other substances and behaviors and it’s dispiriting and making me not write but hearing Jim helped me. His emphasis on letting go of self-censorship when experimenting & creating a sustainable practice (& not “searching for calamity to create”) was epic. Wise dude. This podcast is rebooting my love for him & JEW. Wish I could run into him at a meeting lol. <3 from Berlin

GfdikhvhA Must For Any SongwriterCandid and enlightening conversations from masters of the craft. Jimmy Eat World is one of the greatest bands of the past quarter century, so Adkins knows what he’s talking about. So, too, do his rangy panel of guests.

JACXVXGreat ListenReally love Hearing Jim and his guests talk through their process. Haven’t missed an episode and haven’t been let down. New favorite podcast.

Dsmith8224Thank you!One of the most refreshing, interesting things I’ve listened to in ages. And I really needed that during these crazy times. Thank you Jim!

narnianexileNot sure if mislabeled or....So I first need to get out the way I love the podcast. I feel like a lot of it is more a trip down memory lane most episodes than talking about song writing development. But I guess the past and how you’ve grown as an artist is part of how songwriters make their craft evolve. That said, I love the reminiscing. I listen to way many news podcasts and so this is a nice break in my week where I can kick back while driving and listen to Jim share stories with all these great artists. I hope this podcast project survives the pandemic and Jim continues doing interviews on the road with other bands. I think that would be awesome! I wish Jim could put together a little list of his fav bands that “never made it” from the smaller labels JEW was on back in the day. I’ve been trying to find a few myself and I’m liking what I find. Shame more of these bands didn’t get more exposure.

yeeeeeeeaaaaaaFavorite new podcastAbsolutely love the fun energy and insight Jim gives along with his guests! The nostalgia and throwbacks while they talk about reminiscing on life and musical tastes to the process of making music they’ve done or during the time is my favorite thing. Truly hope these don’t ever stop, I’m addicted to them and so stoked every time they come out and every guest has had such great things to say about anything and life!

theForanerWowza!Great to hear one of my favorite songwriters of the all-times, sit down with other songwriters and explain what goes on. Really opens your eyes to the complexities of how music is actually created. Looking forward to future episodes and stealing ideas... goal here: start my own band and call it Jimmy Eat Universe.
-
Logan McCluneYou will listen all the way through not just the middleJim Adkins who is my favorite song writer interviews other musicians about song writing. Awesome!

KronosResistorBassRockin!Besides being a fan of Jimmy Eat World and Jim himself, I was sold immediately when the first thing I heard was a Fender sponsorship ad and semi tongue in cheek mention of the JA-90 Tele, (which I own and absolutely love). I still can’t imagine playing on 13’s, I have 10’s on mine. Great interview and overall discussion of music, looking forward to more!
