no one wants to do thisThis is weird…why?
-
JohnnySneakers.comThe tangents 🙄I want to learn more about watches and these gentlemen have some great hands-on detail and mention many considerations (such as dimensions, materials, finishing of certain components, aesthetics, etc.) of wearing a watch on a day-to-day basis, but one of these hosts goes on unrelated rants that literally kills time with very little practicality or advice from his side-stories. This makes the whole thing feel a little less professional and it’s as if some hobbyists are sitting around talking, eventually getting to watches. I don’t know if they’re trying to squeeze out time to fulfill some episode length requirement, but it feels drawn out with the non-watch tangents.

Puro TrashFunGreat fun and entertaining!

Lernie the HydraMore than just Whiskey and WatchesSure, you listen for the whiskey and the watches. Heck, maybe you listen for the world’s longest wrist check. But like finding an opossum in your trashcan late at night, this podcast has surprises. One minute the hosts could be talking about the Omega Constellation (again) and then BOOM, you are hearing how this relates to Heracles and the Stymphalian birds, maybe an obscure reference to Virgil’s Aeneid, perhaps Aristophanes and his plays. I now find myself not even caring about watches, I just spend my time arguing how Odysseus is the finest Greek hero. This next part is free concept for you. “You know what a Greek hero could really use when they’ve been far from home fighting gods and raging seas, monsters and magic? A good clean shave with Manscape…” On a more serious note, the hosts do a good job discussing things all us watch nerds discuss on our own anyways. So listening is sort of like hovering over the shoulder of someone at a Redbar meetup, where you are just constantly afraid they will attempt to fiddle with the crowns of all your vintage watches. I may be projecting on that last bit… keep up the good work guys!

gabnic06Content ok, but production value, meh!Just a few friends discussing watches and beverages. The content is often entertaining, but the production value is mostly poor. Sound is the main issue. C’mon guys, invest in some decent equipment!

Joe sampleLove these guys!Definitely have been enjoying you guys for months now. Great chemistry with whoever is on each week. Good topics, love fresh forum finds and drink check and wrist checks are always fun. Only thing to improve upon is better audio. It’s a podcast so I’d hope some new mics are used at some point to make this even more enjoyable!

Kevin MzrLove it!Been listening to them for a few months and listened to the back catalog of their podcasts. Love the varying views they bring and have learned to love Buzz’s slow cadence 😂

lugtolugtolugSuperbThis is how Watch enthusiasm should sound like. Authentic, unbiased, and entertaining. These three dudes really complement each other. Hope this podcast continues. Keep it up, fellas.

The Epi Man!Really should stop saying they have 11 listenersThey are entertaining but sometimes a little to self deprecating. Not sure why they don’t like HODINKEE. They have brought many people into the hobby. Hope these guys keep at it. They will get better.

Goforn8Great podcastLove the podcast thus far. It’s a great group of dudes talking about watches and whiskey. I’d love to hear from more guests, more micro brands like you did with cincinnatiwatchco and of course whiskey!

JSackPretty Good but...So far the podcast has been pretty good. The topics are interesting and the collector’s take is a nice POV to hear from. With that said, they sound quality has to improve. Also, the Hodinkee bashing gets old REAL quick. Stop whining and focus on interesting content and this will be better.

SqrWkNew and refreshingI love a podcast for collectors and this is exactly that. Also folks that have been in the game more than 12 or 24 mths. Not trying to replace their day job. Laid back informative like listening to friends at your local meetup talking about our collections. Keep up the good work. John @watchsalis
