ESPARROWFOXLiving for this pod! Finally really pleasing horror film discussion, dissection and critique and all from the viewpoint of really well versed and brilliant women. Well worth the time and LOVE the longer times of these episodes. Helps me discover some films I hadn’t heard of too, which is just fun! Can’t wait for TFG to join BlueSky so I can follow there as well!

Eric SuchytaGet laminatedHere reviewing the Final Girls, we also believe all pods should be so 90s. Plus, the only horror podcast I've heard to include ace viewpoint contribution.

Mom-of-2-SongsCherry Falls!!!!I thought this movie was a fever dream from my younger days! I was obsessed with the tv version here shown in the US when I was younger. Never realized how gorey it was bc it was a TV edit!! Loved the episode and revisit!!

Frankwest23The Best EverWell, if you aren’t obsessed with Anna, you are wrong. I adore this podcast. Smart feminist analysis is so needed, and I love keeping up with these themes. Well researched, smart, to the point, funny, and highly entertaining. I thoroughly recommend. I only got into horror a few years ago, and thanks to people like Anna, who form a core community of devoted film analysts who share their minds with the world, I’m a convert.

RikaMrieAlmost perfectI LOVE this podcast… the horror movie content I’ve been looking for. Love the smart discussions that are funny and thought provoking without being pretentious! Minus one star because the cackling laughter completely blows out my ear drums every now and then… I love this podcast so much that it’s a risk I’m willing to take.

Twilie 5844Horror lovers give this a tryCombines genuine fondness and passion for the horror genre with nuanced discussion of the films. Well worth listening to.

roywburnsiiiEndlessly insightful. Immensely enjoyable.Although Horror may seem to contain more than its fair share of problematic depictions of women, a reasonable case can be made for it actually being film’s most feminist genre. With this in mind, Anna Bogutskaya and esteemed guests discuss and dissect classics, soon-to-be classics, and films possibly best left forgotten alike with wit, intelligence and passion. As well, Anna is a charming, first-rate host and an effective, insightful interviewer. Essential! Pair with The Evolution of Horror. The Projections and Arrow Video pods for max effect.

free repeaterExcellent Podcast! Great insight into horror films. This is an excellent podcast. luckyshot80From a different point of viewI have throughly enjoyed the episodes I have listened too. Wonderful guests and host. Always great insight into these films. Given new angles for rewatches of some of these films. Would recommend

thetammyjoThis Feminism Horror Lover Can’t Stop ListeningIt would be easy for any feminist movie show to focus only on women/girls, but the host and her guests clearly understand the the feminism should embrace a look at all gender, sexuality, and identity matters. While that might sound intense to some folks, they mix up their analysis with clear love of horror movies and willingness to share from their lives. I’m never bored and eagerly look forward to each episode.

TheEveryVsFirst class film critiqueFirst I would just like to say this is an excellent podcast, with excellent guests, that is very well produced. Second, A personal note of gratitude to the host. Ok, as a cis, white, middle-aged man, and retired career Soldier, there are few things I have in common with my teenaged, LGBTQ, feminist daughter. I just missed too many years of her growing up before I was able to retire and spend time with her. However, among the few things we have in common are an application of insightful social critique. And movies. Specifically horror movies. Thank you Anna. You have given me, a man of few words, the vocabulary to talk with my daughter about things she cares about, and the ability to let her know I care too. Long live the intersection of horror, feminism, social commentary, and representation!

OperaEmCExactly what I was looking for. This is like a lecture series at a university and it’s amazing! The host asks insightful questions and her guests range from those who worked on the films to enthusiasts it’s a great podcast on an intersection I’ve been craving. Check this one out and enjoy!
-
SpaceOwl!Great content, wonky audioLove love love the show! The audio is a bit weird though. I was listening to the new Fear Street episodes while driving and the level difference between the host and the guest are so dramatically different that I had to ride the levels to try to not get my ears pierced by bursts of laughter. I thought it’d get better after the first episode but it was the same. I hope this improves. I’d love to keep listening. Seriously great content.

nicolevanbebberGreat podcastI’ve loved Anna ever since hearing her review on the Suspiria remake on The Evolution of Horror. I am so happy she now has her own podcast. She’s thoughtful, intelligent and offers great insight and enthusiasm on the horror genre and it’s intersection with feminism. I’m so happy to finally be hearing different voices speak on horror, the world does not need any more horror podcasts from lame misogynistic dudes. So grateful for this podcast, Anna is the best!

AlienJookBoxMakes me see films in a new lightMy favorite eps are the ones where I’ve seen the movie and the pod makes me see it in a new light—“The Autopsy of Jane Doe” episode with Louise Blain is straight up a masterpiece. The podcasters are generally a little younger than I am too so even when they cover something I personally don’t have a lot of patience for, like a Ryan Murphy show, it’s still worth learning about what they take from it. (Although sometimes there’s a funny frisson when a no-nonsense critic like Kang comes up against a movie like The Love Witch.)
-
AE MarlingGreat horror analysisMore critical and thoughtful than other horror podcasts.
-
ZawiszerUnique films and perspective 🖤The Final Girls has climbed my list of favorite podcasts. Love the perspective of intersectional feminism and how it applies to each film. There is an interesting mix of perspective via rotating guests as well. A must for ALL horror fans looking to broaden the conversation to include womxn, race, and impact of horror.
-
The SpringJackWould Love to listenInteresting films discussed at an audio level undetectable by human ears. I figured the sound engineer would straitened things out by now, months into the show... nope. Is there someplace I can find transcripts?
-
MegEVilold concept that sounds freshThere are a lot of podcsts with people going through the plot of films. This one manages to be a step ahead, with fun banter and some interesting discussions.
