I’ve been reading through the Bible this year and The Bible Recap greatly helps me understand what I’m reading! Highly recommend!

I fully understand the phrase “life changing” can be overused and then lose meaning, but I don’t know what else to title this review. I am so grateful that early in my journey with the Lord, my sister introduced me to the Bible Recap. The podcast and book helped me understand the Bible in a way I never did growing up, and helped me really see God’s character and His desire to be in relationship with us! TLC breaks it down in a way that is easy to understand and gives so many resources to do a deeper dive. I will continue to do The Bible Recap and am so grateful for the team there.

I am thankful for Tara-Leigh and her team at TBR. This is the longest I have ever stuck with a Bible study, and definitely the most I’ve ever gotten out of one. I love that it’s broken up into doable parts, and the podcast after helps clarify most questions I have. I’ve recommended this to many friends. I love that it’s on my schedule, and that the podcasts are so clear and concise.

I didn’t read the Bible a lot before this, but this helps me step by step, day by day and even if I get behind it is really easy to catch up. It only takes 20 minutes out of your day and you get filled up with the holy spirit and to see God in everything. This has helped a LOT. Thank you!

This podcast has been teaching me a deeper understanding of the Bible in ways that I never learned attending church. The teaching is done in a way that many of the scriptures make sense in 2025.

In so many ways, the Bible Recap encourages me and has given me a framework to read God’s Word and hear a fabulous commentary-teaching! It has become a habit, but not in a sterile way! I am reading through the Bible a second time with The Bible Recap. Every day, I learn more about God’s character and His love for mankind, for me. God is also moving in my heart and spirit to reveal places where I need to repent, surrender and trust Him more. Growing closer to God is worth everything and I am grateful for The Bible Recap in helping that happen.

I have done the traditional “bible in a year” a few times where you have an excerpt from the Old Testament, New Testament, psalm and proverb each day. While I got through it, I wasn’t understanding the stories or the chronological order of the text. This podcast has been such a blessing! Im learning so much about the context behind scripture and this format works for my crazy schedule so I’m sticking with it and it’s very encouraging.

This podcast makes reading the Old Testament interesting and make so much more sense! I love how quick and digestible it is.

I am on Year 4 of TBR and every time I learn something new. My knowledge and understanding of God is growing, building upon each layer. Understanding God’s story chronologically has answered many questions for me. I greatly appreciate the TBR team and all they do! Will be back year after year for more!

Read the whole Bible last year and I’m doing it again this year. TLC has a heart for helping people grow through Gods word. She doesn’t waste our time, she points out when scholars see things differently and I love that she helps clarify things I don’t understand. And of course every day she brings it back to what we learn about Gods heart and character!

My life, specifically my spiritual life, has felt stagnant for far too long. When my Mom told me about TBR, I felt compelled to start reading the Bible. I haven’t picked it up in years! Tara-Leigh provides such wisdom & insight during the recaps. She has opened the door for me to pursue peace in a way I haven’t in years. TBR is a must follow for new believers, old believers, and those making their way back to the fold!

Before doing the Bible recap, I had never been able to read through the entire Bible in a year, or just read through the entire Bible at all. This is my third trip through the Bible with Tara-Leigh Cobble and The Bible Recap. Even on my third time through, I see something new in scripture that I haven’t seen before. I love that she has a God shot for every day, which causes you to look for God through scripture, instead of just focusing on how it applies to your life. I use the Bible app to follow the plan, and then listen to the podcast each day. If you’re on the fence about trying it, just do it!

The Bible Recap is amazing. I have read the Bible twice and gave up both times in the Old Testament because I was getting so confused. I heard about TBR through a friend. I was hooked immediately!! I have learned so much. Things I thought I knew that were wrong and brand new things everyday. I love it so much. Tara-Leigh is the best. She helps me understand everything I read. I’ve never even attempted a full Bible read-through, so some of this has been really intimidating, but with TBR, I’ve been able to read it and absorb God’s Word for the first time. There are some things that I thought I knew that I actually was wrong about that I’m learning so much about, and I’m so grateful for the Bible Recap to help me read this without giving up! 🩷

Each morning, I pop on a section of the Bible Recap. It’s a blessing to be able to hear God’s truth explained in context and relatable content. Tara is a joy to listen to and I am so thankful to be able to listen to this podcast.

This has been what I needed all along and didn’t even realize it! I started with a goal to read the Bible last year and heard about the Bible Recap when I got into the New Testament. Tara explains everything so well that I was determined to read the Old Testament with the recap, I am in Leviticus and it’s WAY more exciting this time around. The O.T. is where it all began for me when my pastor/son challenged me to join he and his wife in studying the WORD along with others in our church community. I’ve been going to church my whole life, and I find Tara to be one of the best at distilling the major point of a passage of scripture. I find many Bible commentaries to be lengthy and boring. This is not the case with Tara, she keeps me interested throughout!

I’ve tried many studies and have never really taken much away because I couldn’t relate to what I read. Many will teach parallels between our life and the Bible so you read it looking for yourself. Then, you start TBR with Tara Leigh and suddenly you are looking for GOD and his character in the pages! The Bible isn’t about US…it is who GOD is!!! A real game changer. I absolutely adore this podcast. I love the encouragement and accountability. Even more so… I love the help in understanding what I just read. I love how our segments are broken down and explained… it helps bring the Bible to life even more. Sometimes I just don’t get the words or the meaning, or I don’t understand the context or the history and this is so incredibly helpful. Several times after listening, I find myself going back and rereading the segment for the day. I also appreciate that the reading each day is just enough and not too much. I’m excited about what’s next. I’m excited to not only listen, but to read passages that were once dry - where I felt Lost and confused. I was so blessed to find this podcast a few years ago! It was an answer to prayer because I wanted to be more consistent in my Bible reading. This is my fourth year to read through the Bible. I’ve become a huge fan of the Old Testament! Tara-Leigh offers insights and context to daily passages. There’s always something new to learn which keeps it exciting and motivating.

Like many, I was raised in a church going home, Catholic to be exact. Like many, I walked away as a young adult. The words of the priest never provided connectivity or meaning, the words of the world penetrated, my experiences made me stay away. But then…I was so tired and soul exhausted. And very alone and tired of even that. I don’t rely on emotion or feelings because they are arbitrary and changing. I need depth and background to understand, an intellectual connection. “Show me the money.” I believed in God, but not religion, which is man made, interpreted, and exercised. I did not, however, know about the God I said I believed in. The Bible Recap and Bible Project clips explain the underlying cultural and historical background and bringing that forward to an understanding of this great God, building connective tissue and connectivity between the head and heart. It took me 3-4 years of starting and stopping around March-April until I got through a whole year of the Bible. At the end, I felt so cheated of all that I didn’t know and learn and missed out as a child. I started over again this year to absorb more…there’s so much there’s no way you can grasp in 1 year, or even 10. This is where to start learning about the God that crafted you perfectly. You will begin to feel confident in His word so you can move to other programs and studies and know which is really grounded in His character and intention because you have read his word, slowly and surely, and gotten some of the historical and cultural meaning and events that explain the whys of what may offend your modern understanding and cultural norms. (Yeah, I haven’t worked out my arguments with Paul’s perspective of women yet. Lol) I encourage you, if you’re out there wondering, feel intimidated by the Bible, maybe a bit doubtful of this whole thing, tired, alone, new to this whole thing, coming back after the hustle or being led astray in your 20s: Start Here.

I was invited to read the Bible for the first time over a year ago using this Bible study and now I'm re reading for the second in hopes to read every year! God is on the move and using you all! He is where the joy is! Thank you Jesus!
