I love the stories and reminders of the struggles and fights we have gone through for people to have the rights to medicate and enjoy this plant. Extra shout out for the episode about Dennis Peron and Brownie Mary. He was a close friend and mentor. The history of Xmas traditions is one I listen to yearly with my kids.

These guys are the best. Insightful, smart, funny and cool. Tremendous storytellers and great interviewers, and unique guests. Abdullah and Bien teach me so much every week about my favorite plant: truths behind the movement, current politics surrounding legalization, heroes from the past and heroes of today supporting and uplifting each other despite all the global super powers putting them down; I could go on but I won’t, but I could. I liked the plant for a long time before discovering this podcast, but I don’t see myself burning one ever again without some knowledge or tip or funny anecdote popping into my head that I heard on this show. One day I’ll be able to put five on it and some more to get my signed copy of Bien’s book. Until then, I’ll keep spreading the word about the best shadow-banned podcast there is!

I also love learning about how our society has been brainwashed into believing bad rumors about natural substances like marijuana and etc. not only do you learn something but it also makes you laugh! as your listening you feel as if your in on an inside joke between friends. you also connect with the hosts bcuz they are very genuine and easy going which makes learning more fun! like I said top notch podcast to listen to 🙌

Weed is a gateway drug. A gateway into another dimension. One where I realized that I was lied to about weed, and if I was lied to about that, what else was I lied to about? My history, religion, reality itself? What is real? Adults have a weird way of pretending like they know what they’re doing and talk about, but how much of that is a lie or willful ignorance? Everyone is different but even nonconformists tend to have a similar style. Man, at his core, is tribalistic. The lone wolf dies, but the pack survives. I’m glad I found this pack. 🐕

Loving this podcast for deep dives into particular moments and subcultures in weed history. I’ve learned so much about weed culture from this show… every episode tackles a new story and fleshes out some aspect of the long and complex history of human interaction with the plant. The two hosts play really well off each other, too… love the juxtaposition of facts, banter, and obvious good friendship between them.

Thanks guys! I found your show a month after I started smokin weed and it’s helped me appreciate cannabis so much more! Weed truly has changed my life for the better. I’ve struggled with my health for many years and the relief I feel because of cannabis is remarkable. I’m a happier, better connected and more loving person because of cannabis!

Growing up in a country that has been hostile to a plant for a majority of my life had me brainwashed into believing a series of lies. Those lies are slowly diminishing thanks to podcasts like GMIWH. The media has also been critical of the role that weed plays, not only in society, but historically. Is it a coincidence that the US has been at its most sick, both physically and mentally, during cannabis prohibition? And pharmaceutical sales reach all time highs while curative medicine remains inaccessible to the masses. This podcast does a great job of providing a historical context to the subject and starts the much overdue dialogue about weed and its role in society through a relatable and entertaining tone.

Love the show here in Michigan. Can’t wait for the 3rd season
