    Binge-worthy and hilarious
Best podcast ever! I wish I had discovered it earlier. I was addicted to these books from the (way too young) ages of seven through twelve and couldn’t wait to get into high school so all my problems could be solved by having a boyfriend and being elected queen of a dance 😂 I had forgotten how insane these books were. Thank you for this wonderful entertainment!

    My favorite thing ever
Not just my favorite podcast, literally one of my favorite things ever, period. Learned about this podcast from other listeners of a podcast hosted by Hugh Hefner’s former gfs (only mentioning this because i thought Anna & Karyn would get a kick out of hearing how i got here lol). I only planned to hear their take on the evil twin (reading that book is one of the most vivid memories from my childhood) but i got hooked immediately and (embarrassingly) binged the rest in less than 2 months. It is now the background to my life. I listen in the shower, in the car, while i workout, etc. These ladies just make me happy.

My favorite podcast of ALL TIME
Hilarious and so fun, I fear for day we are out of books and hope Karen and Anna will choose another series and keep making podcasts forever (please please please)

    Best podcast ever
For a genXer like myself who read all of these books, this is my favorite ever podcast. I’ve listened to so many true crime podcasts I just can’t handle any more murder. These women are hilarious, this idea is brilliant, I love it!!!

I never experienced the Sweet Valley books in my childhood, but found out about them on another 80s trashy teen book podcast where they covered the more spooky titles. And I had to know more about these ridiculous twins and co. So here I am. 2 weeks later and on episode 50 already. This is exactly how I would review these books to my friends, and getting to pick up some Irish slang is a bonus!

    Top Tier Podcast
I have never loved a podcast like I’ve loved Double Love. Anna and Karyn are hilarious and I love their banter. Their recaps of both the books and the show (PBA member checking in!) are a lovely escape from the everyday grind. I have gotten so podcast burnt out over the last few years; however, Double Love never gets boring, never drags me down, and I genuinely look forward to every new episode.

    Fantastic nostalgia!
Fair play ladies, making me laugh out loud on the subway looking mental. A great trip down memory lane. So great to reminisce on these amazingly great / questionable books with the Irish humor thrown in.

    Hysterical & Completely Accurate
This show is incredible-you MUST give it a try if you have ever read these books in the 80s or 90s. The hosts are fun & entertaining. Their character descriptions alone were making me laugh out loud. How were any of these characters or storylines plausible to me as a kid? 😂

Sweet Valley meets top-notch feminist hilarity
If the Wakefield Twins and the denizens of Sweet Valley have been living rent-free in your head since the 80s and 90s, this show is for you. Sure, you’ve filled your heart and mind with more ~edifying~ literature since then, but it is also a true fact that you have been scared away from cocaine for life (RIP Regina, iykyk) and these books made an indelible impression on you. Anna and Karyn bring a witty and snarky feminist analysis to this bonkers series. Their Irish perspective is also very enjoyable, as they puzzle over things American phenomena like onion dip, homeroom, and split level ranch houses. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll buy blue-green contacts at the Valley Mall. My very favorite show. Anna and Karyn are the best.

    Love this podcast!!
It’s been so much fun reliving the absurd (and often super-problematic!😳) Sweet Valley High series with these two fabulous hosts!! If, like me, you used to sleep over at a friend’s house just to wake up early and devour her insane collection of SVH books, you will absolutely LOVE Double Love!!

    Brilliant!
Edit: I joined Pi Beta Alpha. I tried watching the series (twice) but I can’t get past episode six. I have never supported a podcast. I don’t care about any of that. I can not get enough of these two. I wish they released a four hour episode daily. My beloved cat passed away a bit ago and I went on a relisten of some of the episodes. Anna’s voices had me busting out laughing, in public, even though I’d heard the episode before and was otherwise sad. I love these girls. They are hilarious. Anna and Karyn perfectly recap and discuss the strange and terrifying world of Sweet Valley. They make me laugh hysterically every episode and now I’ve gone back to reread the series so that I can be ready when they recap. Oh, and now I think in the Margo voice sometimes. Like every time someone says soon. Anna and Karyn are what perfection sounds like.

    Great Podcast
I love this podcast! I found it when searching for something to listen to while I’m at work. It’s very entertaining and the hosts have good banter and a lot of knowledge about the series.

    My favorite podcast!
As someone who was thoroughly obsessed with the Sweet Valley High books as a preteen, this podcast is so much fun! New episodes dropping are a highlight of my week. I’m already starting to have anxiety about that inevitable day when they’ve finally recapped ALL the SVH books and the podcast ends. What will I do?? (Re-listen from the beginning I guess?)
  • nelsonsensei
    Fun, relaxing, nostalgic
Just started binging this show and I love it so much! Read the books as a kid and like a lot of people I'm just now realizing how INSANE they are. Also it's such a delight to get an Irish perspective on a lot of the books' weird details about U.S. life (though to be fair a lot of that stuff was weird to people from the U.S., too). Karyn and Anna are hilarious

This is a favorite of mine
Edited years later: I still like the podcast, but two things keep happening that tampered down my enthusiasm. 1) I can’t stand when they attempt to voice characters. They can keep doing it, and I’ll continue muting, scrubbing past, or turning it off because it happens about 30x times per episode. 2) They lump Americans together as if we all have the same interests, cultures, upbringings, attitudes, etc. Sometimes it’s lighthearted, and others I resent the implications about being ethnocentric or can’t admit when I’m wrong. Please stop, or do in-depth research how different each American listener can be. — I love listening to them make light of a favorite childhood series! The ladies are funny and warm hearted. It’s also great to hear them describe how they don’t understand American culture that I take for granted (e.g what the heck a 7th grader is). Very well produced and prepared. Wonderful podcast to subscribe to!

I’m dying laughing with them!! Brava!! 😂😂😂😂❤️THIS!!!!

    What a trip
This is hilarious and the best trip down memory lane. The evil Margot voice has me screaming with laughter every time.

    Long Commute
And this makes it worth it. I love hearing about it from the non-American perspective. You have no idea with how let down i was when i reached high school and there wasn’t a dance/event every week!

    So happy!
This podcast is hilarious. I was obsessed with these books, and I remember most of the books they’ve covered so far. These books are so awful, and I LOVE revisiting sociopath Jessica and self-righteous Liz. They were the WORST.

    Mr Collins!
I love this nostalgic look at this classic series! It is a lot of fun to hear these two Irish lassies not know what graham crackers are!

This podcast brings me so much joy
I don’t actually have that many memories of the Sweet Valley High books, so I’ve had an amazing time experiencing them through Karyn and Anna’s recaps and reactions. I’ve listened to the whole series probably three times; it was my comfort series in the first year of the pandemic. Thank you so much for this.

    Much love for Double Love!
As a teen in the 80s, I was obsessed with these books. I love the take that these wickedly funny women have on them. It’s fun to relive it all, and to read some new ones that I had missed in my youth. They keep me entertained driving my daughter back-and-forth to her activities. So if you see a woman on the highway laughing her butt off, it might be me!
  • chosenone76
    HILARIOUS
I loved these books when I was a teenager. I was literally obsessed and I’m having so much fun rereading them and then listening to Anna and Karyn’s take on them afterwards. So entertaining and so much fun! Reading these in my 40s again really puts a new perspective on these books and Anna and Karyn do a wonderful job of hilariously pointing out the problematic and ridiculous things about these awful, wonderful and absurd books. 10/10 would recommend!

    Love
I love this podcast so much. It’s hilarious and on-point without wallowing in nostalgia which a lot of recap pods tend to do. I’ve been listening for years and wish I had more friends to talk about this with.
  • Flappy of the Tucker
    Hilarious nostalgia!
I just found this podcast a few weeks ago and have already binged almost 40 episodes. I read the books obsessively as a tween/teen and it’s been so much fun revisiting it. The plots are even more outrageous than I remember and the hosts truly make it laugh out loud funny.
  • talinkio2
    Love this podcast
I loved Sweet Valley High books when I was a teenager. I read the books from the beginning and waited for the publication of each book every month for years. Karyn and Anna’s recaps are great. Funny and spot on. Very nostalgic and fun!

    Please review The Wakefield Legacy!
I was hoping for Christmas this year that you would discuss “The Wakefield Legacy: The Untold Story,” since you’ve reviewed all the other Sweet Valley Saga books! Please :)

I’m all caught up on the episodes! What am I supposed to do now? Love the hosts and the nostalgia.

    Better than it oughta be!
It’s so much fun to hear the books recapped through modern, and also Irish, eyes. If you read the books and even if you enjoyed them at the time, you’ll likely get a kick out of this second look.
  • Goregeosity
This Podcast Makes Me the Happiest!
Love this podcast so much! It’s fun and nostalgic, while also calling out (in a reverent way) all the shady attitudes of the horrible SVH crew. Perfection!

    A 100% Delightful Podcast
Just discovered this podcast and it just makes the day better. Haven’t thought of these twins since the early 90s, and listening to the hosts recap each book with enthusiasm makes my heart smile.

This podcast is so nostalgic, and so much fun!

    Jessica is a psychopath
Double love gives us a wonderful trip down memory lane with these books. Cause we most of us were younger we didn’t have the internet! You get to find out you weren’t the only 1 who didn’t know what they were referring to and that Liz was a doormat and Jessica a psychopath.. son pull out your bright pastel hammer pants and tease your blond hair and enjoy !
  • Kikiboobear
    So fun!
Love this podcast! It is so much fun to relive these books that were such a huge part of my childhood. Thank you for the entertainment!!!!

    I was a teen in the 90’s
I was a teen in the 90’s and loved SVH. I enjoy this podcast as I re-read the books in my 30’s. You can have to do this podcast through all the books!!!
  • DrinkingWater1
    onion dip faves
I get so excited when I see a new episode! I only read a couple of them when I was a kid but listening to the girls describe them is so good. These books are ridiculous, they explain them so well and their commentary is spot on and funny!
  • LoInChicago
    Fabulous fun!
SVH was, for better or worse (probably worse??), one of my ur-texts as a ten year old. Probably why I think evil doppelgängers are totally normal (Margo! And then SHE had a twin!) anyway, I’m loving reliving how INSANE these books were (even more than I remembered!), and Anna and Karyn are lovely hosts leading us through the SVH canon - thank you!
  • outsiderblue
    double thumbs up
This podcast is amazing. I read SVH when I was in junior high, and when I was in college my twin sister and I would read them aloud to each other on road trips. Listening to Karyn and Anna is just as good of a laugh. My favorite bit is when they call-out all the old-timey gangster speak.

I’d Give This 137 Stars If I Could
Unfailingly funny and weirdly informative, this podcast is the snarky SVH Cliffs Notes I never realized I needed. I wish these two would read 50 Shades because OMG.
  • DrChristy99
    My New Favorite Podcast
This podcast never fails to make me laugh. I loved SVH as a kid, and then later realized as an adult how ridiculously bad the series was. Love the hosts. Love the snark.

    💖
I read SVH obsessively in elementary but even then, was embarrassed enough to paper the book covers with cut-up grocery bags. Now that I’m old enough to own my former love of these books, I’m adoring this podcast.
  • Welshgirl12345
people wonder what I’m listening to at work
This podcast consistently makes me laugh out loud at work. I wait for the episodes to come out. Everything about it is amazing, especially the old-times gangster voice and just how awful these twins are. Love it!!!
  • Silverhoof10
    SVHigh-larious!
Anna and Karyn are so fun to listen to as they snark on the amazing melodrama that is Sweet Valley High. I can’t wait for their take on the other Sagas.
  • chicbirdie
    So quick witted!
These two have me laughing within minutes. They are so funny and hit all the ridiculous notes that occur in the svh series! It’s a blast to listen to!
  • Jocelynk414
    137 kinds of amazing
This podcast is so stuffed with SV nostalgia and delightful snark, it’s difficult to listen without giggling out loud...and then looking completely insane on public transit. I hope to someday have a drink with the magnificent hosts.
