Listening again during a Trying Time. Five stars - I love it.

    Magnificent
Okay, Jack just mentioned Arthur Danto (apropos of very little) in BSCC episode 93, and that’s when I knew definitively that this was a podcast of my heart.

Great podcast but their hair is wrong.
I’m really disappointed that Jack is blond and Tanner is brunet. In my mind’s eye I saw Tanner as an All-American blond football player type. Really more golden retriever than anything but ultimately fair-haired. Jack was more of a hipster, listened to the Strokes, wrote zines. Definitely brunet. Imagine my utter dismay to find out that their hair colors are wrong. Please fix this. I am tempted to withhold a star until my demands are met but I don’t want to hurt Jack’s feelings even though, as mentioned, his hair is wrong. Great podcast. I’d probably see them live if they fixed their hair.

    So good
    Loving my re-listen!

“PS - we loved this one”
I’ve followed this podcast from the Baby Sitters Club Club, to babysitting-adjacent works, to romance reviews, and now to the Summer of Sandra/Sandra (pronounced like France)/Sondra/Sam. I’ve laughed, I’ve cried, I’ve been immersed in thirst. For new listeners, start at the beginning so you can appreciate the evolution and understand all of the references. ILY and IKY…goo’bye!

    10/10 would recommend & a suggestion
My partner and I listen to this whenever we have to be in the car for longer drives and it always makes us laugh out loud. If you ever run out of ideas for this podcast but want to continue on, I think if you guys did a degrassi: the next generation rewatch and recap it would be spectacular

    Nice catch up!
I stopped reading the baby sitter club neatly 30 years ago, and I didn’t get a chance to finish them. This podcast helps me catch in an entertaining way. I love the analysis they give on each book and will often laugh out loud at the theories they come up with. If it wasn’t for the funny summaries, I probably wouldn’t have thought to catch up on the series. Brings my childhood memories back with an interesting twist.

    just no…
Listening to men talk about the BSC is not my first choice but unfortunately it kept cropping up. Can’t get through a single episode they talk so slow and I doubt there’s ever a real recap. What a waste.

    Baby Bee To Baby Man
I have been religiously listening to the Strange Bedfellows podcast, originally called the Babysitter's Club Club, and have evolved from a Baby Bee to a Baby Man after finishing all of the Babysitter's Club books with the wonderful hosts, Jack the goofball, and Tanner the alligator (I assume), through all of the conspiracies and hidden truths within the texts. I have emerged from my own hive to generously smack each star for these two. If this is not discriptive enough of a review, you better just listen from episode one, listen to 200 episodes, and you'll get it.

I might be TOO into this show
Seriously. It’s my feel good, pick me up, laugh out loud, heartwarming, comfort podcast. I’ve listened all the way through three times now, and I’m about to start a fourth. It’s legit helped me through some rough times. I’d recommend it to anyone, particularly to those who enjoy listening to two true friends who enjoy each other’s company be ridiculous together.

    Male friendship at its finest
I’ve been listening since this was a Babysitter Club podcast. I don’t even really care about romance novels or movies, but I listen every week because I love their dynamic and willingness to jump into (and lean *hard* into) the absurd. I look forward to (all the iterations of) this podcast each week.

High rating despite Jack’s bad Jane Austen adaptation opinions

    Brilliant concept. Annoying delivery.
I’m new to this podcast. I was so excited when I heard about it. It sounded right up my alley as I loved BSC and SV as a kid and I love romance novels, plus I'm a sucker for recaps! Slam dunk…except, it isn’t. Most of the time I have no idea what these guys are rambling about (and again, maybe I’m missing some inside context due to being new, but this seems excessive.) There is VERY little actual recapping going on and I don’t enjoy their brand of humor, if that’s what you want to call it. Feels very bro-y and inside baseball. The tangents are off-putting. I listened to a few episodes but once they butchered The Viscount Who Loved Me, I had to be done. Amazing concept, poorly executed.

    Long time fan
I’ve been listening since episode one of the babysitters club and it’s the most consistently funny and entertaining podcast I’ve ever listened to. Look forward to it every week.

My favorite podcast and my favorite bromance
Long time listener, first time caller. Been listening since the very beginning of BSCC and I tune in every week for Strange Bedfellows. I have to silently laugh to myself when listening at work because their banter is just so silly and ridiculous, the perfect duo. Thanks for helping me get through my work days!

    I loved this one
This scintillating podcast is honestly the greatest thing to happen to an audio medium ever.

    Educate Yourselves
Look, like most of you I listen to podcasts in the parking lot of a church or near school cross walks. The windows are down and the volume is up. This is how we all listen; I wrote my thesis about it. This makes Two Lewd Dudes a little challenging and T&J need to educate themselves on normal podcast consumption. Two Prude Dudes are like 92% fine. The BSSC episodes (now you need to educate yourself) are 91-93% fine. And it’s all 100% funny and really the churchies and kids also need to educate themselves. Now this has been a great review but I’d like to go and I’d also like to leave.

I love Jack and Tanner and their love of (some of) the baby sitters!! This pod is my comfort pod!

    Ear Candy
You wouldn’t think two dudes could seamlessly transition from lovingly discussing the complex and occasionally terrifying world of the Babysitters Club to a clinical (yet, sex positive) dissection of erotica, and somehow make it all hilarious. You’d be dead wrong, chief.
  • Ty842
    Great show
Always love listening to this podcast. Lots of fun, hosts are both great

I didn’t think I could LY or KY more!
But it turns out, reader, I can and I will. As a baby bee and devoted listener of the The Babysitters Club Club I wasn’t so sure I could follow the boys into the dark of romance. LUCKILY, the two prude dudes had me at hello. I LOVE IT. Hi-larious. Good Clean Romance Related Fun. Cleaned right up for the squeamish among us so we don’t have to hear a lot of that goopy stuff. If you like fun and you like good times and jokes that carry on past the point where you remember what the joke was about at the beginning and you love people uncomfortable (yet very sex positive) talking about romance, have I got a podcast for you. And, bonus, there is a info about sports AND the royal family AND politics. THIS HAS IT ALL.

    World’s Greatest, Funniest Podcast!
This is literally the BEST podcast in the entire world. Every episode brings me so much joy and laughter. I look forward to listening every week.

Amber theory, purple orbs, and Sweet Pete, oh my!
Several years ago, a friend told me about the BSCC podcast. As an elder millennial, I was intrigued since the BSC was a big part of my childhood. But I had never been a podcast person. And then. 2021. I finally listened to episode 1. And promptly began kicking myself for not listening sooner. This is the funniest stuff I’ve ever listened to. Listening to Jack and Tanner have “serious” discussions about hidden meanings, Biblical references, and ties to classical literature, and then switch to yelling at each other because Jack won’t update his Skype is so hilarious that I often find myself rewinding a bit to listen to it again. Jack and Tanner, I love you and I kiss you. I’m only on book 100, but oh man I hope this keeps going for many more years.

    Love this podcast 🐝🥖
The way Jack and Tanner talk you would think that boys had JUST been invented.

Why do I love this so much
If you like literary criticism and laughing with people that remind you of the very best moments of friendship then this is the podcast for you. It is both pointless and delightful. It will restore you hope that men exist that are nice and good. It will be the next podcast that you talk about with your significant other as if you actually know these people and are friends with them. Your significant other will not get the jokes.

    Consistently clever and funny
Love listening to these guys while commuting or doing chores. Thanks for making me laugh out loud! Your Phantom Menace analysis was priceless.

    A derailed romp
It’s as if Nick Cage’s character from national treasure had a podcast with the guy from an idiot abroad. Jack is constantly stretching the text to the furthest possible connection and Tanner pretends to know whats going on but clearly has no idea.
  • Lovechump
    Refreshingly silly
These guys are the best, whether they’re talking about Claudia Kishi’s rad sense of style or the most random ways Star Wars is actually about babysitting. If you need a laugh during lock down, look no further!
  • nyleve1
Love the content and the chemistry!
Please please if you grew up with the books give this a listen! I love these guys their interaction is so dynamic I feel like I’m there cracking up with their silly conspiracies and hilarious jokes.

    Mr. Pike is a babe
I never read these books growing up but I can NOT get enough of this podcast. The commentary is hilarious! I love all of the 90’s references because I’m old and get them all! The literary comparisons are great! 🐝

    One of my favorites
I guess I procrastinated long enough, and now I’m finally writing a review. I’ve been listening to Jack and Tanner for years now, I don’t think another podcast makes me laugh as hard as this one. I’m really looking forward to more years of their banter!
  • Brihutch2021
    Tanner is a monster.
Come for the babysitting, stay for the bees. The show is a wild ride that’ll have you hooked as you delve deeper into the mystery of Stoneybrook. My personal favorite segment is Trackin’ Jackie. The tragedy of this character is incredibly poignant
  • Kelkeymomo
    It used to be good.
It was good before they started talking about politics. I get it, everyone is entitled to their own opinion but I just want to listen to jokes about babysitting not these two aimlessly ramble about how many white male voices there are in media today.
  • hkudra
    A hive of bees
This is my favorite podcast and I didn’t even read the books as a girl. The club provides the analysis I’ve always looked for in a podcast. Love.

Hilarious!/2nd review- I think you have something here with the romance novels!!!
❤️ Loving episode on February 22,2021! Jaime is a great addition! I think “the boys” have a potential new genre- romance novels! Isn’t there an endless supply! (I also have never read one ever, but I think I’ll start)!!! Also, I just downloaded Catapult- Jaime’s show! Jack and Tanner- Thanks for sharing your friendship, sense of humor and creativity! You guys are the best! What a funny show! The hosts are great! I have listened to this podcast since the beginning- I LOVE it!! Jack and Tanner are soooo funny together! I love their brotherly banter- they are quite a unit!
  • Isthmian bookit
    Listen to the earlier episodes
I appreciate that Tanner and Jack have kept their podcast going for this long. Their wry humor and silly jokes are entertaining, and I like the various theories and motifs that they have developed over the course of reading the BSC books. With that said, I am not too sure where the podcast is heading now that they’ve finished the books. I dont think they quite know themselves so the latest episodes have been a bit boring filled with relentless idle chat. Fingers crossed they find their new footing soon because the earlier episodes when it was all about the BSC were gold.

    My soulmate show!!!
It is not hyperbole to say that this podcast saved my 2020. If you loved the BSC, you will love this podcast. Just be sure to start from episode 1 and don’t be overwhelmed by how many episodes are ahead of you. You will soon realize that it’s an absolute joy and comfort to know how many you have in your future. My favorite thing about this podcast, though, isn’t the nostalgia, which was initially what brought me here. It’s the hosts, Jack and Tanner. They are upbeat and funny. While the rest of the world feels cynical, they are playful. They are having an unabashed blast which literally liberated me from my own doldrums in a tough year. Love this show so much.
  • lilstarrgazr
    It’s funny sorta
This is not the podcast where you’re going to get a recap of the books you grew up on and feel so nostalgic. I listened to a couple of episodes and felt like their shtick, while amusing, got old fast. Having the “off the dome” recaps so brilliantly set to music (and obviously not off the top of the head) were funny, but the same five minutes of jokes to introduce the segment everytime, not as funny. Tangents were funny sometimes laugh out loud, but after every episode, I’d think, gosh I remember such and such happened and they don’t even touch on it.
  • stella_the_one
    Full of chuckles
I’ve listened through this podcast and restarted recently. It fills the need for a hilarious podcast to both completely tune into and great background for when you are working on tasks that need more attention. The individual bits and banter are good for a quick laugh. However, make sure to start at the beginning to follow the obvious lore that the girls are actual bees, it’s all bread all the way down, and you must drown your dolls. I’ve also enjoyed stories and guest spots by the hosts’ kids who were born during course of the podcast. This may have been a purposeful move by Jack and Tanner to give the podcast more credibility, but the ploy pays off. Not to be too much of an advert, but their Patreon is the only one I subscribe to. It’s clear that there is an equal effort committed to that second weekly podcast.
  • MarciMarie3
    Love it!
I was obsessed with everything Babysitters club when I was young so when I came across this podcast I was so excited! I’m up to episode 22 now and it’s amazing. Thanks for the laughs! Also- coincidentally, I had a giant bumblebee on my shirt today.... I think it’s a sign 😁

I ambitiously subscribe to several podcasts but this is the only one I actually listen to.

    Bring back Beefsteak!
This podcast is the bees’ knees and bread. All. The. Way. Down. The first thing I do every Monday morning is download the newest episode. This is the podcast I listen to when I’m happy, sad, depressed, anxious, or dealing with insomnia. Tanner and Jack are like old friends. I do have one quibble though. What happened to Beefsteak Jake? He was my favorite non-book character and it’s like you guys have completely written him off the show! Remember the Delaynes? What about remembering Beefsteak Jake?

    Love my darling boys!
  • clarilq
    My all-time favorite!
A podcast I always find myself turning back to. Jack & Tanner are SO funny and witty and clever. I hope when they run out of BSC related content that they continue on maybe with a new book series like Sweet Valley. I have a feeling they can make anything funny and I’d be so sad if they ever stopped!

    Start from the beginning
You won’t be sorry. This is such a delightful and weird show.
