I love this podcast but

It recently switched to giving a free portion and a subscription followup. The 5/7/22 ended with a pitch to hear the rest via subscription. Now I don’t mind a subscription for podcasts I really love but a heads up that this was going to be the new way to consume the whole podcast would have been nice. I will not be following up though.

February 19 Episode

I listened to the episode 2 days after the invasion of Ukraine. Your comments about 90% of the Jewish people did not leave Europe before WW 2 profoundly struck me. Today we hear stories of the Ukrainian people could not believe they would ever be attacked. They too did not make plans. I pray for their safety and peace. I also pray for the safety of Russian citizens and hope they take to the streets to protest en mass. All of the episodes have been insightful and I have learned much and enjoyed. Thank you.

Each episode has a wide winning combination: interesting guest, interesting host, mouth-watering recipe, cooking tips, history, current events, pets (but not on the table) compelling discussion, and humor. It’s my companion for making weekend brunch but I could listen anytime.

This podcast is a joy to listen to. I’m not a baker, but I enjoy all of the conversations, whether they involve politics, psychology, or brownie-making tips. Marissa has a wide variety of people on the show, and is an excellent conversationalist. This show is both thought-provoking and a delightful balm for our times.

I miss friends

Remember parties? Going to a friend’s house, hanging in the kitchen, presumably helping cook, talking about everything and solving the world’s woes (if only they would take our advice!). This podcast is just that- a soothing, funny balm when we can’t gather physically but still want to be at the party. (And the sound quality has improved since the first episode). Adding to my favorites!

A plate of warm brownies for your ears

I really enjoyed the flow of this podcast. While I’m sure questions are prepared in advance the conversation has a natural feel. It’s as though you’re listening to an honest conversation between friends with all the wonderful digressions one would expect. It’s well worth the time.

A Great Cookie

Kitchens are places where family and friends gather to talk and spend quality time together. They are places where we get to know each other better. Which is why I listened to the Podcast. Baking and talking has to be good. What surprised me is the host helped me understand Kathy Griffin better. Precious to the podcast I had a negative opinion of her and by the end of their talk I had new respect for her. Bravo.
